Another trip to Sim Lim Tower.

Ah, went to Sim Lim Tower to buy some electronics stuff with Jun Ping, Han Wen and Jeremy. That's because I lost the electronics..

Sigh, how forgetful.. Han Wen went there to buy an external hard disk thing, which costs around $130+ at Sim Lim Square.

After buying, we made an impromptu decision to go and watch a movie as we were pretty undecided yesterday. Jia Yi went along too.

We went to Tampines Mall, not only to watch a movie but also to accompany Jun Ping to fix his N70 Nokia Phone, which was faulty. When we reached there, Jia Yi got excited when she saw a stand showing a Taiwanese singer, Tank who was there for his autograph session. And we accompanied her.

It was totally pure coincidence that I brought my camera. (I wanted to do research for my D&T and didn't expect an autograph session.)

We went to the 4th floor, and sad to say there weren't as many fans as we thought.

I wasn't a fan of Tank although I liked some of his songs, but Jia Yi kept pestering me to take pictures of him.

Tank singing to his fans..

And of course the autograph session..

Smiling and shaking the hands of a fan.

And a few more..

While Jeremy asked me to take pictures of the host. (she's a Yes 93.3 DJ)Perhaps he's lusting for her?

Here's one of her picture that I took:

She's quite cute, and dresses like Rainie Yang.

After watching the session, we went to Toys R Us to do some research.. After that we went to watch Silent Hill, the movie. What an incredible movie. It's not really horror, but gore and violence. The plot was perfect. But some parts, I can't really understand. The graphics were good, and the characters weren't your typical ghosts. Overall, a rating of 7.5/10 for it; the ending was not very good.

Ah, it's a very tired day.. But pretty nice!

I just wanna say..

Just wanna say something. Thank you Angie. Everytime I expressed my feelings on the blog, especially worrying ones, you would sent me an email to ask me how was I doing and gave me useful advice. I really heeded it. Thanks alot!

And sigh, 2 friends who were once pretty close to me, changed alot. Lord knows what's thinking in them. One of them were once my most respected person in the class, but no longer anymore. The other girl, whose attitude totally changed; she used to be quiet and bubbly. But now she's rude and defiant towards teachers.

Speaking of teachers, during the whole Compulsory Remedial Lesson (CRL), there was this particular teacher who did not even come for the 1st and last week of the June holidays. During the first week, he (he asked a relief teacher to give us a test and not him, mind you.) gave us a test and claimed that he will go through during the 4th week. Bullshit. We were informed that there weren't any lesson yesterday. And he's the only teacher amongst the teachers who taught us that didn't came. Before the Mid-Year exams, he told us about having remedials. And in the end, he kept on cancelling and cancelling until there's only once. My friend told me that during the last week before Mid-Year exams, he gave remedial to his Express class and not us. Oh, may I say he's having "stream discrimination"? Sigh, I don't think I can rely on him to help me score for 'O' levels. I could still remember I prepared notes for myself during the 'N' levels when he was teaching us.

What sort of teacher is he? I've totally no clue.

Whole lot of angst and worries to be released.

I've visited the doctor yesterday, and it was good news. My acne-prone skin has been stabilised and the doctor was wondering if I need any more antibiotics. She decided to gave me another 1 month of the oral medicine but this time, I will take the pill once every 2 days. And if everything goes well, I will just need to apply some sort of medicine on my face. And if I have the money, I will go for Microdermabrasion. This procedure will make my scars be less visible and may go away, and it costs around $80+ per session. And I need more than 6 sessions to see visible results. Need money then.

I have been pretty depressed because some people remarked that I have so many scars. People who poked fun of me who said I have holes and said I was scary. One girl even said my face has been shot at many times with a gun. The person that I can only tolerate is Jun Ping, because we both insult each other innocuously without being mindful. But others which I don't insult even insulted me. And for god's sake stop telling people that you can't take jokes and whatsoever because dipshits only say these things when they know they're in the wrong and tried to cover themselves using this despicable method.

Another thing I hate is when people compare my brother and me. We brothers are pretty famous in school; I have people walking up to me asking if I'm his brother, and I have friends asking him if I am his brother. Teachers also did the same thing. But what is so irritating is that people say that I'm in Choir and he is in Basketball. This means that I'm not active while he is active. People not only compare our activeness but also our physical appearance such as face and body size. The worst comparison? Our looks. A friend even told me that his friend said that I looked uglier than my brother. So what is your god-damned problem? Think about it. Would you like it if I compare you and your siblings while in the same school? Damned dickheads. My brother and I have totally different personalities and I will leave it as that.

And another thing is what Janna had told me "Be selfish, please!" Ever since today's D&T trip, I will decided to make it a point that people will call and ask me if there's anything and not me doing that. (I don't have free incoming calls.) I wouldn't care about them anymore. I guess the only person who appreciates what I do is only Jia Yi. I will probably call Justin, Jun Ping and Jia Yi because these people are the only ones who attends what I organised. I will be indifferent to the others.

(I wish to apologise to Mr William Goh because some of the organised sessions clashed with his non-complusory self-study lessons. It was pathetic enough not to have a single person coming when he organised such lessons.)

Speaking of which, Justin and Jun Ping were celebrating Father's Day for their fathers and grandfathers and had to leave. I guess I'm the only one who doesn't celebrates the day. I'm not very close to my father, and my paternal grandfather has already been dead. I'm extremely close to my mother but not to my Dad. He used to work till wee hours and probably doesn't care much about us. So I'm not close to him and doesn't seem to have any common topic with him. I don't buy Father's Day present for him and finds it weird to do so.

To Joey from USA: Hey buddy, you're already into fatherhood. Don't just keep working and build a healthy relationship with your daughter. If not your daughter will end up just like me. Okay? :)

And also, I love the song Reaching Beyond for SYF 2006! It's nice!

Ah after typing these paragraphs, I feel better now.

Finally a day's rest.

For this whole month's holiday, I decided to give myself a day's rest. And it's totally rest! Listen to lots of songs and was in my own escapade..

My previous post sparked some comments, but I guess that's what I really felt. If they don't appreciate, I wouldn't care much of them.

Also, I hope that by the end of June holidays, I can finally upload my blog template!

Today was enjoyable. :)

I had enough of you guys.

I had enough of my fellow D&T students. I sometimes think why am I the one organising dates and time to come back and do our 'O' levels artefact and folio. Why am I the one leading?

None of them appreciates for what I've done. I was so worried for all of us because Mr Joseph Goh has left us and handed the baton to Mr Tsung as he was just a relief teacher. Much to my surprise, Mr Tsung did not came back to help us, leaving us in the lurch. So I called Mr Goh, telling him our situation. And last Friday, he made a special trip to come and help us.

When I organised trips to school to do projects, the girls even grumbled and asked me to change the time. And they had the cheek not to come when the day arrives. Do you know how pissed off I am regardless of whatever reasons/excuses they gave?

Take yesterday's trip for example. We met up at 1pm at Compass Point to go to Sim Lim Tower to buy materials for our artefacts.

I had the girls late because one of them assume this and that, and the other one was having tuition. Another one was late too. But the most INFURIATING thing was that another 2 guys were extremely late. I was already at Compass Point, and both of them called and said they just woke up etc, and asked us to wait for them. And when they came, they talked as if it wasn't their fault. They were late because they watched the World Cup. One don't even know we had a trip and needed someone to remind him. Perhaps they were too poor to buy an alarm clock. Or perhaps they did not even have the MINIMAL discipline to wake up. Lord knows what is going on in their minds.

I'm seriously thinking of coming back to the workshop myself. Why am I doing so much things for these ingrates when they don't even appreciate it? Why am I wasting my handphone bill on such assholes to call them, only to listen craps and rubbishes that comes out from their mouths? It's their 'O' levels. NOT MINE. Why should I even care? Why can't I just be selfish and care for myself?

I seriously had enough. I'm sick of all these people. I'm sick of being nosey. If they want to do badly, let them do whatever shit I care. Screw these people.

Because among the small group of just 7 people, it seems that I'm the only one with the right attitude and mentality. They doesn't seem to know how vital it is, having that NONE of the teachers are helping except for Mdm Lim and the workshop instructors, and that the expectation of the Vice-Principal to ask us to do well.

Can some readers tell me I'm stupid enough to help my friends?
Can some readers tell me that I'm being an idiot because nobody appreciates?
Can some readers tell me why am I organising trips when they don't even come (whatever excuses/reasons they give?)
Can some readers tell me why am I being such nosey because it's their 'O' levels and not mine?
Can some readers tell me why should I burn my handphone bill because of them?
Can some readers tell me to stop HELPING these people?

As I'm typing, I realise that my blood's boiling point is getting lower and lower.

CAN SOMEONE TELL ME? PLEASE?

Do you admit that you're being influenced?

From the time we're born into this world, our hearts were the purest. But as we grow older, our mind and thinking are influenced by our surroundings and most importantly, the media. Be it in advertisements, televisions, posters etc, you will see beautiful women and handsome hunks posing for pictures.

As a result, we see these people as sexy and good-looking..

Britney Spears wearing sexily. Everyone would think she's good-looking and hot.

Paris Hilton posing. Again, people will think she's hot and sexy, including me.

Tom Cruise.

Korean star Rain.

Thanks to the media, we picture our ideal girlfriends and boyfriends to have a body like the actors and actresses above.

"She must have big breasts and an hour glass figure!"

"He must be muscular and have a six-pac body!"

This is probably what most of us wish to have. The media have changed our way of thinking of a human who is good-looking.

If you disagree with me, would you say that these people are good-looking?

Ru Hua, who's famously known for her looks.

An extremely fat guy.

Yes, you laugh at the pictures. You will think that they're disgusting. Everyone thinks the same way. And simply because everyone are being influenced by the media.

Every one should have each of their ideal girlfriend/boyfriend, their ideal looks, their ideal size and most importantly, their inner beauty. Some men marry women with hour-glass figures to flaunt them. While some women will bring their handsome boyfriends and flaunt it to her girlfriends.

So think about it, are you being influenced?

What can I do..

Despite the June holidays, I have to go back to school every single day from 9-5pm. Grr.. And once I reach home, I can't concentrate to study and revise for other subjects. I'm way too tired. I can't persevere.....

Meanwhile, this guy abt jerry STOP YOUR GOD-DAMNED NONSENSE. I know who you are, but my tagboard is a reflection of my posts and other stuff, but DEFINITELY NOT YOUR SOURCE TO DEFAME PEOPLE. HOW INSENSITIVE CAN YOU GET?

Friday, June 02, 2006

You'll never know how good-looking I am till now.

With my ever-growing ego, look at this picture, which was done by Nurul Janna.

The wonders of Adobe Photoshop. MUAHAHAH.

The caption wrote: "how you ever wonder how zhao lun would look like without pimples w/o eye bags? ahah! =) hope you like it! =)"

Well well, Janna.. I CERTAINLY LOVE IT. Thanks! Often than not, people sees me with pimples or some scars in my face. But I shall assure you that it will heal in a matter of time. People told me if I was slim abit, and good complexion, I'm a good-looking guy. So I'm dreaming that some Extreme-Makeover producer would come and find me. Or even the male version of The Swan. Haha! But the doctor had told me, I had to cure my acne first before other things because my antibiotics requires me to eat food before eating it. Perhaps 5 years down the road, you will see a different James?

Very very busy in the June Holidays.

I will be extremely busy during the June Holidays. And take note of the word EXTREMELY.

I've taken my 'O' levels Mother Tongue Paper, and hopefully I will do well. And during the June Holidays, I have to come back to school with my fellow D&T classmates to rush our folio and artefact. There's so much to do. And I started practising Maths and revising subjects so it is a hell lot of work.

Also, something's worrying me. I can only put 1 or 2 pictures in my new blog template because I need to consider people's 15-inch PC. Previously, my old blog template was done using a 19-inch PC and it looked SO MUCH LARGER in a 15-inch computer screen. Again, my blog's background colour will be in black. And when the new template is ready (as soon as possible), I hope readers will get a feeling of both a mystic and dark feeling. That's what I want readers to feel, hopefully. I have a poor taste of mixing colours, so do give some constructive comments when it is being loaded.

Busy, busy busy.....

Oh, happy holidays. Duh.

Two events today.

I'm extremely touched by our Choir juniors. They put up a wonderful farewell party although some parts of it were last minute.

Seniors waiting to be instructed when to go into the AVA room.

Well, each single one of us started to go inside the AVA room. And I received so much applause from the juniors and I gloated with glee.

The seniors then sit down with the juniors to watch a wonderful powerpoint. It showed the events that we took part in, and the pictures we took. And I realise that some of them were taken from my blog! Whoa, so honoured!

The juniors from each secondary level wrote down their thoughts and wishes for us with a large size of paper..

From the Secondary 1s..

From the Secondary 2s...

From the Secondary 3s...

All of them were so shy and embarassed...

The teachers and the senior leaders gave a thank-you speech to us, which I will never ever forget. I love you guys.

Then the cake was cut... Ah, what a wonderful event..

A very nicely decorated cake!

Sigh, I really missed all of you. I could still remember when I was being pulled to Choir during CCA fair at Sec 1 by Lynette. I was so intimidated by Mr Liew (at that time) that I came to Choir without fail. I braved the storms and shared joy together with Choir. It was my best CCA ever and I never regretted joining. Juniors, do us proud in next year's SYF. Get a gold. Or a Gold with Honours. It's good to be ambitious. It's good to aim high. As I leave this choir with fond memories, I hope all of you will listen to our CCA in charge teachers and our choir instructor, Mr Francis Liew. 10 years down the road, when someone asks me what is my CCA when I was in secondary, I will proudly say it is CHOIR. I love you juniors, Mr Liew, teacher-in-charge, choir peers and NV CHORALE.

*Shows my trademark move*

And thanks a million to the juniors for organising such a wonderful farewell party. I CERTAINLY LOVE IT. THANKS GUYS!

And it's Vincent's birthday too!

We helped him celebrate his birthday at Pizza hut.. Hah! Happy birthday buddy!

Today was such a memorable day..

Shocking Mid-Year exams.

Okay, I'l lbe honest. I'm so shocked with my results. All of them. And its worst. Whole class failed Maths, and I heard people from 5N1 mocking at us like "Wah, all of them can go ITE." Like I said, I believe in Karma. What comes around goes around. I would love to see who will have the last laugh.

I failed English Composition. The marker said I had weak facts etc. It was a major blow for me as I had so much confidence. But what was so infuriating was that I wrote the sentence "Do excogitate.", the marker (whoever is he/she) used his/her red pen and underlined the word excogitate and put down 2 question marks. HELLO? Assuming that you doesn't know the word 'excogitate', WOULD YOU PLEASE GO AND CHECK THE DICTIONARY?! I'm not trying to question your command of English, because it's impossible to learn all of the English words. But could YOU take the effort to check the dictionary? It's extremely irritating to see the words that I used in my composition which may be profound be underlined and put down 2 question marks. (I assume the marker doesn't know the meaning.) If Cambridge markers were like him/she, than we might as well don't learn new English words.

(I'm trying to show respect for the marker, so do pardon me if you feel offended by the criticism.)

Other subjects were shocking, so I wouldn't say them here.

Slackened.

Alright, been a while since I've blogged. Exams are over and some things had happened recently.

During Monday's Science Practical Exam, I cut my finger accidentally with a test tube. I was holding it when I slipped and it did a somer-sault, landing onto the table and shattered into smithereens. Of course, I was the centre of attraction. I saw one of the shattered pieces and tried to pick it up and throw it into the bin. But as fate would have it, the glass pierced right through my finger, and it bled profusely. I was then given medical attention. By the time my finger was bandaged, I wasted around 15-20 minutes. Sigh, probably fail my practical exam.

As for Mother's Day, I gave my mom a pair of earring and necklace, while my younger brother gave a treat to my mom at Pizza Hut. Then we went to a restaurant with my grandmother and relatives. A big feast, but not sumptuous. The shark's fin soup was bland, and the mee was like eating powdered cordyceps. I seriously wonder why couldn't they went to higher class restuarants such as Jumbo, when the bill came with a whopping $600! All for that mediocre food. Argh.

And a bad news. Heard that Clement was admitted into hospital. He was vomitting blood. I was like-- Oh my, how did that happened? Sigh, hopefully he's well. Hey Clement, rest well and feel handsome okay?

I am guessing we're getting our exam marks tomorrow. Wonder how I fare. Sigh!

Treasure what we have.

Finally, I could take a break. Been taking Design and Tech, Geography and Combined Science Paper1. Well, hopefully I can do well. The standard was pretty average.

Few days ago, I chanced upon a TV show called the Oprah when I was messing with the TV remote control. It was talking about an Afganistan who created schools for children so that they could learn. She defied those religious leaders and gave her own opinion. I was so touched. Then, it showed some children using some computers at one of the schools that she had built. And guess what? IT IS THE ONLY SCHOOL THAT HAS COMPUTER ACCESS IN WHOLE OF AFGHANISTAN.

I was shocked and felt it was time to ponder. The children thought computers wasn't a reality, and that they could only see computers in the movies. While it is almost common for every single child in Singapore to possess a computer, these children do not even dare to dream about having one. They even had 3 meals a day to worry about.

More than half of the world's population are in developing countries. In Singapore, although it's extremely hot, we are being protected from Nature's harm. Yes, like them we have problems to worry about. They worry about 3 meals a day. We worry about studies. But think about it. Whose problem is more serious?

I sometimes do believe in karma. Let us treasure what we have.

Election day.

It's Saturday.. There were lots of people in food courts, probably because of the Election. My parents went to vote and I stayed at home. This is the first time I've seen political parties going round and round our estates. Days ago, my dad and I went to eat at a coffeeshop and one of the parties went around shaking peoples' hands. They never shook mine. Nevertheless, they gave a leaflet to everyone sitting there. After that, they went away with their vehicle and waving to us.

Wonders who will win.. mmm..

Yesterday, I went to watch Mission Impossible 3 with some of my friends. A very nice and action-packed thriller. You guys should go and watch it.

It was also the day of the Mother-Tongue paper. For Chinese, it was average. Unfortunately, I didn't had enough time and had to rush through. Sigh, really hope I can get a distinction.

Gonna rest the whole day today without studying. But will do tomorrow..

Defeated.

I'm totally defeated by Mathematics Paper 2, despite studying and revising which didn't really come to naught. It suddenly makes me wonder if I will fail my 'O' level Maths or not. The Maths Paper 2 was difficult and I could only do some questions. My mind failed to provide me with the right formula and thinking at the right time. Still, I am HOPING AGAINST HOPE that I will pass my Mid-Year maths-- A miracle. I would be extremely contented if I get 1/3 of Maths Paper 2 which is around 30+ marks. Sigh.. My apologies to people who taught and coach me in Maths, especially Zi Cai and Mrs Yap Ee Ching. You 2 are the most important people that will determine if I will go to ITE, Poly or JC.

On a total irrelevant note, I was browsing Xiaxue's blog which she said about the poor service from one of the employees at Seoul Garden Bugis Junction. Which made me think about a bad attitude from a promoter. My face is suffering from acne. And it was mostly due to the cause of SilkPro's facial products. I spent around $80 for the products as the promoter sounds so convincing. I believe that I suffered a side effect that result in even more pimples and pus, which was like popping popcorns. My mom went to look for the person and she found her.

And do you know what the damned promoter said?

"Err, not everyone is suitable to use the products."

Upon hearing that, I secretly cursed the bloody promoter that she dies of maggots crawling out of her rotten face. Instead of sounding apologetic or do something, she gave a stupid comment, seemingly refusing to take blame or some responsibility for the condition of my face and instead blaming on MY GENES and FACE that I WAS NOT SUITABLE TO USE IT.

Argh, a good example to vent my anger.

Feeling very low and upset...

Thursday, May 04, 2006

Gruelling week.

Finally finished Mathematics Paper 1, Chemistry, Pure Geography and Social Studies. All of which are major subjects.

MATHS PAPER 1

Questions being extremely hard around the back of the paper. Confident that I can pass it.
Now is the time to try and do my best for Paper 2.

CHEMISTRY

I couldn't do some of the questions. Still, I got the confidence of passing Chemistry. Alot of classmates refused to do the paper after browsing through. More than half of the given time to do Chemistry, they rather lie their heads down, refusing to attempt any of the questions. I admire their mentality.

PURE GEOGRAPHY PAPER 2

No problem attempting most of the questions, except that I spend too much time on one question. In the end, I did not have time to do a 7-mark question, which was to draw an aided diagram to explain how fold mountains are formed. Poor time management. Arghh..Hopefully can get a distinction with the help of Paper 1.

SOCIAL STUDIES

Amazingly, the topics that I spotted all came out for Mid-Year. Could do most of the questions, but I believe I left some points out.

I'm blogging for the sake of blogging. I'm going to revise as I have Maths Paper 2 tomorrow and Chinese paper the day after tomorrow. Than I will have a rest on the weekends before having exams resume on Monday. I would really want to pass my Maths... Sigh..

Let's all buck up!

Saturday, April 29, 2006

Hopefully, a distinction.

You readers probably come to see my comments on how well I do for the English Paper as you guys know English is my forte.

I believe I will do well for Paper 2, as I used most of the teachings of Mrs Benjamin from Elcot Consultants. It was highly effective. There were several USE YOUR OWN WORDS questions which needed good vocabulary. In my opinion, the questions were a little bit easy. However, the summary proved to be a challenge. I had to visualise myself as the author going to find the Drung man. (Dang, I kept saying Dung man!)

As for Paper 1, I believe I did extremely well for composition (Question 3: Good education will guarantees success later in life. Do you agree?" despite not reaching the minimum amount of 350 words. I only got 312 words. However, my content was there. My introduction and good examples will add bonus to my marks, I hope. Furthermore, I think my ending was wonderful:

"Education is a goldmine that never runs out of gold. However, if a miner is someone who do not have the right mentality and attitude, he will not make full use of the gold he extracted from a goldmine. With this analogy and my points, there is no doubt that good education DO NOT guarantees success later in life."

To give credit, the phrase "Education is a goldmine that never runs out of gold." comes from those motivational posters that was pasted on our classroom walls. I was taking a glance over them and didn't realise it came up to good use. I managed to make an analogy out of it. Great.

As for my report writing, I did not do as well as I expected myself to do. Probably because I had butterflies in my stomach and wanted to go to the toilet urgently. Also, I may have misinterpret the question. My format is correct, but it is the content I'm thinking about.

Hopefully, I can get a distinction, if not at the very least, a B3.

Mid-Year Examinations approaching.

I believe people are working hard for the Mid-Year Examinations especially people taking 'O' levels!

Good luck and hope everyone pass with flying colours!

Tuesday, April 25, 2006

I did the unthinkable. Thanks to Ivan!

I PASSED my 2.4 km run!

As flabbergasting as it may seems, I did it. Miraculously, I did it at the actual minimum time of 14 mins and 10 secs. Wow.

I was not expecting myself to do well because I still suffered muscle aches from last Friday's NAPFA. I was expecting myself not to do well. At the starting of the run, Ivan was running behind me and keep shouting and asked me to run at a steady pace. He gave motivational words and kept giving me advice like walk faster and breathe in through my nose and out through my mouth. I was running with the same pace as Koon Xian. However, he felt pain around his rib cage area and started to lag behind. Ivan was the main person that helped me so much. Thank you so much Ivan. Students from lower secondary classes cheered for me even though I don't know them. I'm assuming they knows my brother and therefore knows me. They told me not to give up. Not only the students, even a security guard from the condo even cheered. How wonderful.

I also got the feeling that people do compare with my brother and me after Mrs Helen Chong said "Come on, you're Zhao Kiat's brother! Come on, gogo! Run!" People probably compared the fitness between my brother and me. One was in the basketball team and one was in Choir, though people doesn't know that singing is a physical exercise.

Lastly, my counters has reached to a whopping 6055 views! This month alone, I had 456 views!
It's a big jump. Thank you my avid readers.

By the time you read this, my eyes will probably start to close soon and I'll be in my very own realm, sleeping soundly away.......

Series of events.

Went to visit my grandmother at Tan Tock Seng Hospital today. She was transferred to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after her operation. She looked pretty good. I saw her surgery scar and it was about 15 cm. What makes my hair stands on its end is that it was stitched up with staple bullets!!! Gross. Really.

She's feeling handsome, but I'm not. My stomach muscles are aching so bad after doing 45 push-ups for my NAPFA test on Friday. Everytime I sneeze and I tried to bent, I felt pain around my stomach. Advice from Clarence to stretch my body before sleeping was ineffective. Not only that, my hands felt like they have been stretched to the maximum after attempting pull-up and tried to hang there as long as I could. It's a waste of my time doing these exercises to my best even though I knew that failing NAPFA was inevitable.

On a total irrelevant note, a friend of mine is feeling down. He just came out of a failed relationship. He told me that he will put his studies as priority but it is seemingly not the case. During the Peer Tutoring, he was pretty affected that he could not teach his peers during the starting of the program. He kept a brave front, but was feeling miserable everytime.

Hopefully, he can forget this relationship and make sure it will not affect his 'O' levels.

In order not to rub salt into his wounds, I decided not to write anything that seems to lecture to him. But all I can say to people who are in a relationship is that:

NOTHING IS AS PRECIOUS AS TRUST IN A RELATIONSHIP.

This is the key and fundamental ingredient for a relationship to blossom and develop.

Last but not least, I would like to tell readers that I will be blogging less frequently, as Mid-Year Education is approaching near.

Sunday, April 23, 2006

I can't hold on much longer.

It's barely 1 month and I'm suffering withdrawal symptoms.

I WANT TO GO DIVING. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hopefully, a group of us can go to Pulau Tioman by the end of this year with Sin Wee to take her retest.

I want to go diving, so much so that I contemplated asking my qualified diving friends to apply for a job at Underwater World Singapore at Sentosa.

Recently, there's been news in the Straits Time at some people intends to make the water crystal clear at a place in Singapore, so that diving can take place. If it's done, we can go diving in these beautiful places that is near instead of going to Malaysia, which is far and more costly.

Can't wait to go diving again!!!

On a total irrelevant note, after reading Justin's blog (www.justindoit.blogspot.com), I was extremely motivated by the last few paragraphs of his latest post.

The Mid-Year examinations is starting on Friday, which is the English Paper. Sigh, I'm gonna work hard and push all my grades. I will focus more on Maths, Science, Chinese and Humanities. Especially Chinese. It's because it will be the first 'O' level Chinese paper in less than 4 weeks away. If I get B3 or above, I will not retake it and focus on other subjects.

This are my goals for 'O' levels:

English---- A1 or A2
Chinese----A2 or B3

Ah Ma* PLEASE pull through the operation.

Ah Ma*= Grandmother

My grandmother was operated at 8am today. And ISN'T out of the operating table yet. (I believe.) It was a major operation, which the doctor said it will take a whopping 8 hours to complete. The chances of the operation being successful? 50:50. Either she makes it or she don't. If she don't, I don't know what will happen to her.

The doctor said that if she wasn't operated to remove the brain tumour, not only will she be given 6 months to live, she will also suffer another stroke again.

Till this point, we have no news about my grandmother as the doctor hadn't given us a call to inform us. I thinks that she is still operated on.

I really hope that she will make it through.

I DON'T WANT HER TO SEE THE GRIM REAPER.

My family hopes our prayer will be answered, while we wait in anxiety and disquietude for the doctor's call...

God please, I'm on my knees..

*UPDATE*

My grandmother had pulled through and is out of the operation table. WOOHOO!

Mrs Corinne Teo.

I decided to wrote about her in this post, after I listened to Josh Grosban's You Raise Me Up. The tune and music was abit similar to Celine Dion's My Heart Will Go On. And it made me felt nonchalant.

Mrs Corinne Teo, she's our chemistry teacher. She's someone whose hard work is not appreciated by students. Some people hate her, says she sucks and says her lesson is boring yada yada.

I've to agree. The minute she comes into the class, she will ask us to take our either our Ten-Year-Series or Chemistry textbook to continue with the lesson. She's someone who makes full use of her time.

I could still remembered vividly during the end of 2004, telling us that she wouldn't teach us during Secondary 4. In the end, she still taught us because there was a shortage of teachers. She did the challenge and it was finally the most critical part; 'O' levels.

People, do excogitate. Everytime she asks us to highlight some words, cancelling some irrevelant 'O' level questions, have we ever thought/realise that she would spend time going through the questions, indicating which questions are not in the topic of the 'O' levels? Have we ever thought why did she asks us to highlight those words?

During the early months of the 2006, she gave both 5N1 and 5N2 a test. 5N2 failed badly, while 5N1 did well.

She said she went home to think about it, and realise that 5N2 was not given as much 'O' level questions for that topic as 5N1. And she decided to give a retest, going through even more questions.

She did it all for our sake. From highlighting words, cancelling some questions to sacrificing time on Saturdays to give us remedials.

Last Saturday, only a handful of people went to the remedial. 5, to be exact. What happened to the rest? What can we say about those who came and those who did not?

After the remedial, she said: "I don't think I am going to carry on with this remedial.", and gave a sigh.

I was feeling bad, and told her not to lose hope on us. She seemed rather surprised by my words and told us (the 5 who attended) to work hard.

For those who doesn't want to listen to her lessons, at least give her some respect okay?

And to people who thinks I'm gullible to believe her words and other inane comments, it just shows your level of maturity, doesn't it?

Jameslancer.blogspot.com goes WAP.

I was fiddling with my phone a few days ago and decided to go on the web. I typed in Jameslancer.blogspot.com. I didn't expect the page to come out as I thought the space was too big. To my surprise, the page was loaded, and it uploaded my templates, pictures and posts! Unfortunately, you won't be able to see my chatterbox and other links.

But isn't that good enough? You can go to my blog using your phone now! Ha!

On a total irrelevant note, I was touched by the overwhelming support of friends from my last post: Life's a bitch. So touched, I shedded tears.

The doctor had informed my family that the brain wasn't affected by the stroke. So she will be operated by next Wednesday.

With that, I thank Yan Tong, Justin, Janna Marican, YingYing, Crystal, Sin Wee, Joyce and Khai Theng! I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Life's a bitch.

Didn't took any rest after the Golden Jubilee concert, as I went to Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) to visit my grandmother on Sunday.

Life's a bitch. Really.

My grandmother suffered a stroke 1-2 years back and couldn't walk, being totally dependable on the family. And now, she was warded because of a brain tumour, and the doctor had to do a scan to see if the stroke had affected the brain. If yes, the doctor will be unable to operate her, and as the tumour grows, she will die as a result. An estimated time of 6 months.

Although the results are not out yet, my family was devastated. And my grandmother was paranoid of staying at TTSH. Basically it was because my great grandmother died there, so there was some sort of phobia, thinking that she may die there.

Why is life so cruel? She finally managed to walk alittle after the stroke. And now she was affected by this illness. After finally pull herself up from the ground, she was strickened down with a tumour. Sigh..

Also, about my school work, I was more alert and seldom doze off in class now, after the Golden Jubilee concert. I was paying more attention. But still I am very tired. The main subject that I'm having problem with is combined science. I believe I still can manage other subjects. I'm trying to endure the gruelling and hectic schedule these days; so many tests, homework and practical work that I need to do in school. Still remember the 5-day school thing policy? That's simply crap, because teachers are still using Saturdays for CCAs and other remedials. This goes to show that in this era, there are too many things to learn to lump everything in 5 days.

Life's like that.

Golden Jubilee Concert. An Unforgettable Night.

Yesterday was an unforgettable night. It was North Vista's 50th birthday, and the North Vista Performing Arts, namely Choir, Band, Chinese Dance, Modern Dance and Drama, performed at the grandest stage of them all, the University Cultural Centre (UCC) at the National University of Singapore (NUS).

We performed for 2 shows: The Matinee Show and The Gala Concert.

Everyone had to be there by 7am..

Finally we reached UCC and practised another rehearsal before getting ready for The Matinee Show.

And it's finally time to get ready!

Adjusting ties and looking good.

And what's performing without make-up?

Putting some make-up..

Putting some gloss on the lips..

It was extremely disgusting because of the extra layer that I felt on my lips. Yuck! Also, Mrs Stephanie Wong applied blusher on our face, and she put so much into my face, and mine look so red! But it's all for the concert..

And suddenly, my narcississm was acting up.

The presence of narcississm.

The Matinee Show

Finally, it was time to perform. And I tell you, the feeling was so great, especially the opening. When Corinne went out to sang solo, the audience was clapping and cheering as if they were on ecstasy. Then, it was Jason who was the first solo using his saxophone, and people were also cheering. By then, the curtains went up, and I tell you, the lighting was perfect. The Band and Choir had combined with the song, Over the Rainbow.

After that, the Choir sang and dance with their 2 songs; La Musica (pronounced as La Moo-sica) and Let's celebrate life. My brother said it was so nice, he gave it a rating of 9/10. Mr Francis Liew, our Choir conductor said that the Sec 4NAs were surprised and went "Waaaaa" when they saw us dancing. I guess people expected us to sing still. However, with our repititve moves, we did an incredibly job, and it was a wonderful start for the Matinee Show. People said they could feel the beat and the microphone picked up the voices beautifully.

After finishing the song, we rested for like 3 hours, before rehearsing for the finale again.

The Gala Concert

It was our final performance, and everyone made sure we done our best. Again, the opening was done by Band and Choir, with Corinne as the soloist, singing Over the Rainbow. Everyone showed enthusiasm and sang our hearts out. Perfect.

Fascinating. Magnificent.

And then, it was our 2 songs again. The choristers sang with gusto, with every expression and move deliberately, to be professionals on stage, performing for the audience.

I'm the one from the 3rd row from extreme right, last row.

Dancing to the beat.

P.S: Thanks to Julianna for these photos!

We finished the performance with excitement.

Before the finale, some of us cried, including me, when the Band played the Blue Ridge Saga, which moved me to tears. We were sad that it was the last performance for us before stepping down. During the finale, we sang a Happy Birthday song to North Vista, and sang the School Song. For the first time ever, I took the lyrics of our school song to heart, singing it with pride.

Then, the balloons were released and I tell you, the weird audience were bursting the balloons one by one..

The Golden Jubilee Concert was finally brought to an end. The finale was successfully well done.

What a night!

And these are the pictures we took:

Qi Xun and I.. He's so cute!

Speaking of Qi Xun, here's a startling fact about him which we found out during the concert..

Look at his tongue! Oh my!

And he's not the only one. This girl can do it too!

So cute!

Jason, Chee Wei and I.

Beauties and the beast!

Mr Chin and I. He's leaving to Australia to pursue his Masters.. Sob..

Xiao Wei and I.

Sylvia and I.

Rebecca and I.

Felicia and I.

Mrs Stephanie Wong and I.

Corinne and I. Boy, do we look like a couple!

Sheena and I.

Samuel and I acting cute..

Say cheese!

Charlton and I.

Mr Francis Liew and I.

Whoa!

What a night! And to all the people who put in pious effort into the concert, it was appreciated!

The Golden Jubilee Concert rehearsal at University Cultural Centre.

The performing arts went to the University Cultural Centre (UCC) to rehearse for the Golden Jubilee Concert today.

And we finally reached the place at National University Of Singapore (NUS).

We went into the place, and the security there is extremely tight. No trespassers were allowed. That is why each of us was issued a security pass.

With it, I can walk anywhere at the backstage.

Anyway, we went into the backstage and to the stage as well. Personally I feel that the UCC is just as common as the Singapore Conference Hall or the Esplanade. If you're someone who hadn't been to these cool places and a North Vista Sec student, here's a treat of some pictures of the UCC:

Be easily wowed.

That's why I say Jameslancer.blogspot.com readers has some treats.

Okay anyway, each of the performing arts were issued rooms to put their belongings etc.

I really felt I was a celebrity.

There are nice cupboards to put some stuff and beautiful lighting. Not only was the place air-conditioned, it was also fitted with 2 toilet taps running with icy-cold water. There are also lockers to put valuables too.

Anyway, we carried on with rehearsals, and unfortunately, there were miscommunication and some conflicts which I will not elaborate and there were also inane comments.

The whole process managed to end quite smoothly though. And we ended at around 9.15pm and we reached school at around 10pm+. Everyone were both physically and mentally tired. I hope everybody's pious effort will be recognised.

Speaking of that, I realise that alot of people grumble about going to the Golden Jubilee Concert, saying it was a waste of time, doesn't want to go, and other comments.

Hello?! If the performing arts are not grumbling, who are you to grumble? We are already paying tickets even though we are performing.

We practised so hard for the event, and just like a birthday party; if you organised the birthday party meticulously well, you would wish that people will come to your birthday party. That goes the same for us!

And usually people will say "Who ask you to join the performing arts?" For goodness sake, stop being dumb. Do you know what will happen tomorrow?

But nevertheless, I hope everyone will turn up, because it (the Golden Jubilee Concert) is going to be a prestigious and grand event that will last for once in a lifetime!

A flirt? Duh.

I was thinking about what Janna Marican wrote about me, and decided to write a post about it.

She wrote: "his always looking flirtatious. Very helpful and always asleep. English pro!"
Of course, I didn't took it to heart, but I believe some people thinks that I'm a flirt. Sometimes, you see friends typing in my Chatterbox, calling me some affectionate names like dear, etc. But that's just harmless fun. My close friends see me with girls some of the time, mostly from choir. I know lots of girls, and people like Clarence thinks I'm a flirt.

Some friends joked about it, and they knows that I'm just someone who knows lots of girls. I thank them for their maturity.

Nevertheless, people who seriously think I'm a flirt, please check the dictionary definition. Because I seriously smirks at your idiocy.

And Janna, don't worry, I'm not offended by your innocuous comments. Trust me.

Meanwhile, I'm going to watch Campus Superstar on TV!

Dreams or reality?

I was thinking in the afternoon about what my future holds for me, because I had a talk with Jia Yi, about Polytechnic courses and JCs.

I still thinks that I would like to be a diver (though technically speaking, I'm already one.) and work in the Underwater World in Sentosa. I love nature, I love the sea. I always visualise myself diving in the tanks of the Underwater World and find satisfaction when tourists see a diver and pin-point me. Attention-seeking, you may say. However, if you read my previous posts, you will realise that I wrote about what my relatives said, which made me feel low.

"Do you know how to swim?"

"You need to separate fact from reality."

And the others, who were flabbergasted that I went to scuba dive, but later thought that I went to snorkel.

And after working with my relative during the December holidays, he said that it is not always possible to pursue your dreams. Though it sounds contradictory, I couldn't agree more.

That's why I also picture myself working in the Central Business District (CBD) area for the rest of my working life, working 9 to 5..I also feel like having a taste of working in such an enviroment.

I also thought of marriage, kids and other factors.

And to tell you, I even naively dreamt about being a singer.

Singing is my passion, and I kept singing in class. Furthermore, I even had my trademark, which was even micmicked by friends from both my class and choir. Guess it's just wishful thinking that I will be a singer when I grows up.

In this modern world, pursued dreams aren't always being realised.

I'm still confused..
