Refresher course at SAF Yacht Club (Changi).

Wei Qi and Daphne, our fellow divers haven't been diving for more than a year, and it is vital for them to take this important course so that they get used to breathing underwater.

It's great to see all the equipment, and that I can still fit into the wetsuit!

I always realise that every time I went diving, the divemasters always change.

The first dive was with my instructors, Roy, Amin, Eugene etc.

The second dive was with Mario and Michael, which we always tease them calling Maria and Michelle.

Mario and Michael.

And now, we have a new divemaster coming for this trip with the 5 of us..

DEAN..

Dean looking at his watch.

Anyway, SAF Yacht Club (Changi) is really cool.. It's a great place to chill and hang out.

Awesome.

I still got my stamp design homework left undone, but I'll think I'll do it after coming back from Malaysia.

I might blog tomorrow, but no updates on the weekend.

Jeremy's 18th birthday celebration.

Yesterday was Jeremy's birthday celebration, and boy was it great to see everyone there at his chalet! He booked the chalet from Aranda's Country Club, and it costs $200 a night. Wow!

Basically, nothing much happened during the first night, except that he was "beaten" up by several others.

On the 2nd day, we just slacked at the chalet during the day, but at night, it was when the celebration begins.

Of course, what's a chalet without barbeque right?

The black charcoals..

Then, the fire burns....

BRIGHTLY!

And it's time for barbequeing food!

Hot chicken wings!

What's with the gathering? And what are they doing?

Let's zoom in!

Oh, they're playing mini mahjong!

And finally, it's time to cut the cake with the happy birthday song!

The big cake meant for Jeremy from Angie the Choice.

Make a wish Jeremy!

Cut the cake!

Opening the birthday presents that he received!

Birthday boy and me.
Anyway Jeremy, I hope you like the present we gave you, and that you had a unforgettable 18th birthday. Thanks for the invitation, and so glad to be there.
I'm looking forward to attend your 21st birthday k?With that, I shall end this with a CLASSIC PHOTO:
Happy birthday Jeremy Wong A.K.A Q MOR!

I finally exploded today.

I've been thinking about my family problem for the past few days, and the more I thought of it, the more unhappy I felt.

Today, I was in a daze when I was crossing the road, and I was so close from being hit by a vehicle. Not once but twice.

I didn't look at the direction which the cars are going, and with my Mp3 player blasting Evanesence's My Immortal to the maximum volume, I couldn't hear the honk from the car. I only realise it when the driver stopped and gave me an angry look.

I joined my friends today, and I felt good with them. But I somehow feel uncomfortable inside because something was bugging me.

When I went home alone while the others stayed overnight in Jeremy's chalet, I blasted my Mp3 player while in the bus.

When I reached home, I just felt emotional. I just wanted to head straight to the bathroom.

But before that, my mom striked a conversation with me explode.

The more I talk, the more emotional I felt. I tried to contain my feelings but I can't.

I CRIED INFRONT OF HER.

Perhaps crying isn't the word to use.

The more I talk, the more tears which trickled down my cheeks, and I got flu.

I was feeling so terrible.

I talked so many things, and being the headstrong woman, she consoled me.

There were way too many things which were going in my mind.

Just then, my dad came back home and asked what happened.Luckily, I managed to prevent a war of words with him.

But still after crying, I felt better. The problem still exists, but at least I felt better.

My eyes are still sore and red from crying as I am writing. I should get over this thing as soon as possible. I still have alot of activities going on.

Tomorrow's an important night with a big gathering, and Sunday's the refresher course for we divers. Tuesday's the submission for stamp design, and I'm going to Malaysia next weekend.

And you readers, promise me something. Don't tell anyone what happened from what you read here.

Sigh....

Memories stay, problems please go away.

I sometimes ask myself this question: Why am I facing problems which normal 18 year olds shouldn't be facing?

This stupid problem is coming back to haunt me again, and it wouldn't let me go.

I keep telling myself that this is a problem that I need to stick with for quite some time, and that it will help me learn as I grow up. The fact is that the problem is not going to subside anytime soon.

I already worked myself nonstop for more than a month just for the stupid problem, but I guess it is still not enough.

What problem am I referring to?

That's right. Money. My mom is currently the matriarch of the family, with so many responsibilities weighing on her.

I will help her when I get my pay, but I do have my needs and wants.

My father? I seriously don't feel like talking about him. Let's just say he's not worthy to be a role-model for me to emulate.

I shan't continue further talking about this problem, I don't want to spoil my mood.

I tried to relax my mind by going out with some of my friends, and I do feel abit better with them. Screw the stamp design, I really might not want to come for next week's impromptu session.

Jia Yi, Yingying and me went out the day before, and we went to Kbox, right after the stamp design session.

They insisted on taking neoprints, so I tagged along.. I didn't know that their machines have infra-red to transfer images to your phones!

Nice picture, but I thought I look like an idiot.

Smiles..

Posing..

Acting cool.

Acting cute..

Haven't been taking neoprints for more than a year I guess.. Thought it was refreshing..

We went to Lucky Plaza later, and guess what?

I RECEIVED MY FIRST BIRTHDAY PRESENT!

There's still a month before my actual birthday, but they decided to give me now.

They shared the costs and bought me a....

Mont Blanc Individuel Perfume.

Thanks buddies, really appreciates it!

And I went out with Zi Cai (Justin) to town yesterday, and I was checking out cameras.
We headed straight to Vivocity after that, to watch a local movie, 881.

Movie Rating: 3.5/5
It amazes me how their song rhymes so well with dialects, and that almost every single one of their music arrangement sounds so nice!
We chat for quite sometime before heading straight home..I really had fun with all of you buddies!
On a total irrelevant note, I miss my teachers, Mr David Chin and Mrs Yap.. I always treat them as my friends, and I hope we'll catch up soon.
Life...

It's time to PLAY!

I officially finished work yesterday, and it's a record broken for me, because I didn't have any rest from 23 August till 30 September. Ah, what an achievement.

I've always believe that there will be a time when I work hard, and a time when I'll play hard.

So now I'm left with 2 weeks of holiday, so what should I be doing?

That's right, PLAY!

Even S.H.E is rejoicing for me! I love you Selina!

Anyway, my paternal grandmother has been back from Hokkaido, Japan. She bought so many unique sweets, that I love them so much!

She bought me this miniature keychain:

Some sort of Japanese fish!

After a few months without a proper haircut, I finally had one!

If my mind serves me right, I haven't been uploading my photos for the past one month.

Here's a photo of the recent me:

Shall blog about more important things soon!

Study hard.

As September comes to an end in about a day, October is to kick in, and it's the month which most secondary school students dread:

'O' levels.

I'm sure that people will be mugging (who started this word?) for their 'O' levels, flipping through textbooks and assessment books, while doing their ten-year-series.

Or queueing up to consult teachers on various topics and subjects.

I hope by now, everyone will know the importance of 'O' levels. It is the most important stage that determine your course of life.

You will only have a say in what course or school if you get good results.

AND PLEASE.

Don't end up like me, failing Maths and Science. It will haunt me for the rest of my life.

I hope everyone study hard and I sincerely wish you all the best.

To these people:

Ivan Tan, Janna Marican, Feng Wei, Chong Boon.

I hope that all of you have started preparing for the exams, and if there's anything that you do not know, do ask the teachers. Do remember that deep inside your heart, you want to do well. Once you have the determination, nothing can stop you.

I hope you guys let me know how you all are doing, as I do care.

Here's a line from the song: Bridge Over Troubled Water

Your time has come to shine, all your dreams are on their way.

Good luck everyone.

Funny conversation.

I was in one of the toilet cubicles when I overheard a conversation between a father and his very young daughter.

Father: Come, sit down and pee.
Father: Okay, use the toilet paper and clean your vagina.
Daughter: Daddy, why didn't you clean your vagina?
Father: Daddy doesn't have one.

Oh my god, that's one of the most hilarious conversations I've ever heard!

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Rude shock.

Tomorrow is going to be the Mid-Autumn Festival, and how I miss playing with candles and wax, and the traditional lanterns. Ahh, miss the old days.

Anyway, I had a rude shock today. No, not about the result 2-0 of Manchester United vs Chelsea.

It's my concession card. I was enjoying my 45 cents ride for more than half a year, and suddenly my card turned to adult fare today. One trip cost $1.50 cents.

I was already worrying about whether I can afford to buy a good camera if I get my pay, and now, the adult fare kicks in.

Because I got in to the photography course with the help of YaoZhong, I thought my current camera would suffice. But no, it has already start to wear out after 2 years.

I was intending to buy a good camera so that I can use it for the course, diving, and other interesting trips for my blog.

So is that considered a want or a need?

I still can't decide, and if I ever buy one, I'm limiting my brands to Canon and Nikon.

Sigh, more money woes.

Don't write off Chelsea yet.

Although people will say Chelsea will crumble after the sacking of Jose Mourinho, I say it's true.
But don't you dare write off Chelsea for this match today between Chelsea and Manchester United.
As the match is now currently going on, I believe the emotional Chelsea will put on a fierce fight for their former manager Jose Mourinho.
I do hope the Blues will win.

First Leo Club event for me.

I went back to my school today, because there was an event held in our North Canteen, where old people from old folks home came for the Mid-Autumn Event.

It was indeed hard to interact with them, because of the wide age gap, and that my dialect is horrible.

Old folks people from Toa Payoh.

We had to entertain them, and I was intending to ask if they had any children, but I thought it was best not to ask, because they might be ditched by their children.

Anyway, we had a a line of programmes for them.

Singing karaoke.

An auntie singing a dialect song.

(Please pardon the lines that my camera is producing. It's wearing out after more than a year!)

Guessing game.

I didn't take many photos, because I was busy being a waiter there; serving them drinks and throwing away their finished food.

Then, it was a short tour for them, and the old lady whom I was appointed to had night blindness, and she could walk out of direction because she couldn't see. She was already perspiring all over despite a short walk, and I got worried for her.

Luckily she was alright.

When it was over and they went back to their bus, I looked them in the eye. I think most of them liked the event. Seeing them smile made me feel good, as I thought I manage to shine a light of a lantern out of their lives for a day.

These people had probably been through World War 2, and they are the ones with richful life experiences.

It's not easy to plan such an event, but I do hope they like it.

Flying without wings..

I've felt much better, after listening to Ruben Studdard's Flying without Wings.

I'm so glad that such meaningful songs accompany me during the low times.

I know I shouldn't despair, because there's still such a long way to go. But I still can't help it. It's time I pick myself up from the ruins.

Meanwhile, there's a possibility that Nanyang Polytechnic will have a scuba diving as a co-curricular activity, because my scuba diving agency, Fishermenscuba is willing back us up, so I might start this CCA going on.

I'm going back to school this Saturday to do something really meaningful. Pretty looking forward to it.

Thanks all for being there.

The feeling is coming back again.

1st semester for polytechnic results:

GPA= 2.1

GPA means Grade Point Average, and since I got 2.1, it means I've just passed the first semester, which is UPSETTING.

Now I'm feeling the heat and horror of the choices I made in my 'O' levels.

I'm now asking myself this question: Have I made a wrong choice?

Persevere James!

My weight is plummeting because I've been eating only 1 meal per day since like 2 weeks.

When I was in OG Peoples Park, I didn't eat breakfast when I came to work, so when I had my lunch break, it was like 3pm. And when my work finishes at 9.30, I head straight home every single day.

I've been carrying this routine ever since, and surprisingly, I don't feel hungry when I stand for long hours. However, I try to combat hunger by gulping water every once in a while.

Which is definitely a good thing, as I can fit into the wetsuit!

I do really need to persevere, because that's the only thing that I lack in my character.

I haven't been going out with friends or watch a movie for the past few weeks. Plus a holiday assignment due on Oct 2, it seems even harder.

Finish this 2 weeks with work and holiday assignment, and from Oct 1-14 (except Oct 2), I'm going to play like a kid. NO HOLDS BARRED!

Friday, September 14, 2007

A new assignment in the holidays.

Just when I thought holidays really meant holidays, here comes a proposal from Singapore Philathelic Museum, and they wanted the Visual Communication students to design stamps with the theme: Singapore.

You didn't hear me wrong. It's STAMPS.

We will be involved in a stamp designing workshop, and the top designs will be displayed in an exhibition at Harbourfront.

Now, I need to submit a sketch on A4 based on the theme Singapore. I will do this assignment before 2 Oct, but don't expect me to do a single thing after that, because I will be enjoying my precious 2 week holidays before the school reopens.

I don't think I will use icons such as Esplanade or Singapore River. Hmmm..

Pressure is on.

Now OG's fair is over, I'm being transferred to Bugis Junction's B H G Departmental Store from Friday onwards, the building which is previously known as Seiyu.

Pressure will pile up, because I'm the only one at the counter for almost all the days; from 14-27 September. Moreover, I'm still a rookie. Ah, I just hope I don't get zero sales!

I will have to make friends with fellow promoters from other brands, and hope they will be friendly. Hmmm..

But anyway, the only interesting thing that today had happened is that we felt the tremors from Indonesia, and the OG staff were asking us to look at a certain direction. The section where plates and utensils were placed were vibrating moderately, and I looked both in awe and shock, because I suddenly thought of Geography, and the explanation of earthquakes, and that it was the first time I experienced a natural disaster.

Ah, but anyway, hope that everyday will be a smooth day for me this September!

The thought of diving just sends adrenaline to my friend! I can't wait!

Chinatown..

I've been posted to OG People's Park which is located in Chinatown over a week now, and tomorrow's the last day for this particular fair.

Well, generally OG staff there aren't very friendly, but rather hot-tempered. But I've made friends with other promoters from other brands.

But back to Chinatown. Besides its overwhelming number of old people, it is also where people from China go to.

It is common to see China sluts with old lecherous men holding hands together, getting lovey-dovey. Wow, I guess the women probably sucked out all the savings from the old guy's account.

One such couple came to the bedlinen section and I was serving them. Here is their conversation:

Woman: Baobei (Darling in Mandarin), which design do you like?

*Choosing bedsheets*

Old man: Anything you like, but I prefer this one.

*Woman starts to behave in a saccharine manner*

Woman: Ok dear, you share the same thoughts as me!

*Goes to the cashier, and the old man took out a $50 note out from his wallet to pay.

What the?! The conversation was so disgusting, I vomited all my human organs out. Okay, not that bad. But I have to say I was laughing inwardly because of the stupidity of the old guy because he probably thought that woman loves him. Now who says old people have wisdom?

However, it is incorrect to say that all China women are like that. There are those who came here for a living, or to study.

Some of them bought pillows because they're living in some rented houses.

Hope they feel at home at our Chinatown.

Ah, I guess I'm going to miss Chinatown after tomorrow.

Saturday, September 08, 2007

Why is the feeling coming back?

I just wish to have a girlfriend. I don't know why, but everytime I see a couple get lovey-dovey, I get envious of them.

I told myself that the right one is not yet to appear, and I should let fate decide for me, although I pretty much prefer caucasian girls.

I thought of how good being single is, because you're not tied down by anything, no worries at all.

Grrr, hope this feeling will fade off too.

Oh, and.. the viewership of this blog is dipping lower and lower..

Encountering a scam.

Just now while I was working, someone called me. Nothing unusual you say, but when I look at my handphone screen, it showed no number at all. It didn't even show private number.

Weird, so I decided to pick up the call. This chinese lady spoke with a strong accent talked to me, and said I was invited to some grand hotel in Macau.

My bullshit detector went off, and I immediately I knew it was a scam, because this dumb bitch called me Mr Zheng, and my name is not affiliated nor related to the name.

Acting interested, she further on tell me how I could get my prize on a 2-night stay in Macau, and that I was a VIP.

On realising that it is most probably from an overseas call, I decided to cut the conversation short, telling her I wasn't interested and that she should stop spewing bullshit. My phone plan doesn't have free incoming calls, so I don't wanna waste my bill on such nonsense.

Before I can finish my sentence, she hung up the phone.
Wow nice one you wretched bitch. You knew I wasn't hooked for your indeceiving scam, so you hung up the phone. Let's just say you messed with the wrong guy.
I hope you choke and die from all the money that you have scammed with your unscrupulous ways.
PLEASE TAKE NOTE: Initially, I only heard of this scam in Malaysia, and other foreign countries. Now that it has hit on the shores of Singapore, please do not believe in such scams.
Be careful!

We are born to serve.

Oh my, I should stop thinking of things that's way beyond me and behave like any 18-year-old people does.

Whenever I follows a bad routine, my mind goes haywire.

I thought of this: Do we live to serve the society?

When I was in Serangoon Junior College, the school's motto is: Discere Servire

It means to Learn, to Serve.

I just didn't like the word Serve, because it feels like being a servant, which doesn't sounds good.

So what does serving means? I've checked the dictionary, and it came up with so many different forms of meanings, that I think the best one is assistance; to help.

Actually, I wanted to blog about how bad living like that is, but I suddenly decide to take a good look at my surroundings.

My monitor, my mouse, my air-conditioner, my speakers, my printer etc, all are made by my fellow people who decided to serve the society. They did research on how to improve things, in order to improve life.

Because human beings are never satisfied with the way they want, and to put it in a magnaminous point of view, we work in order to let the younger generations live more comfortably, but then again, they work to let the even younger ones live better too.

I take a look at myself. I'm using things that are being invented and improved on from the older generations, and I take it for granted.

I guess another fine example is scuba diving. Such a sport only exists, thanks to people who did intensive research on physics and other subjects and made equipments in order to dive.

So I guess we need to serve the community, the society; Mankind.
So I guess if you look life in its broadest sense, it goes to show that we live, work and die, so that Mankind will benefit over the generations. And so, the cycle continues forever.

Let's take it on our stride, and appreciate the loved ones around us, in order to find joy in our life.
And seriously, I sometimes startle myself when I blog about a certain topic with a point of view, then suddenly change to something which I never thought I would thought of.

Hmm..

How's everyone?

I kinda miss everyone; teachers, friends.

I kinda neglected and haven been able to catch a movie or something due to work commitments.

But fear not, I think after working till the end of September, I'll be able to PLAY for 2 weeks before school reopens!

No I don't sound excited that school reopens. It's the friends in polytechnic that I miss.

Ahhh.. take care everyone. I will update soon with more important matters!

Take care, Miss Audrey Tan.

This post is dedicated to a hardworking, caring and responsible Geography teacher.

Dear Miss Audrey Tan,

I got really worried when I heard that you were out of school, due to some illness months ago. I had you in my prayers.

I wanted to organise a trip to pay you a visit with some other friends. A few days ago, I decided to call you, because I wanted to ask if you are alright, and also if you wanted to go diving. I called you thrice, but no one picked up the phone.

Today, North Vista Secondary School had an early Teachers Day Celebration, because tomorrow is the actual day. You weren't here today, so I called you again. It was a missed call again.

I checked with the others how have you been, and I heard that you were hospitalised with an infectious illness for a few months. Having listened, I really got worried.

Just now, I received a call from your handphone.

A man picked up, who is probably your father, and we had this conversation:

Man: Did anyone called Audrey?

Me: Yes I did.

Man: May I know who are you?

Me: I'm one of her students.

Man: Why are you looking for her?

Me: I haven't see her in a long time, and she didn't turned up for the Teachers Day Celebration, so I decided to ask.

Me: Did anything happened to her?

Man: No, she's alright. She will be coming back to school by the end of the year.

Me: Ok, thanks alot. Bye.

Man: Bye.

You are really a good teacher. I could still remember when we're in Secondary 1, the class was famously notorious, and we had no form teacher. You were the only one who took us, though you knew it was a difficult task.

I was taught by you again in Secondary 4 and 5, and you gave us plenty of notes, and ask us to do lots of ten-year-series questions, in order to get us prepared for the final lap.

I really appreciate what you have for all of us, and I still cannot believe you got that illness. God is really unfair to you.

As the official day of Teachers Day approaches, I would like to sincerely wish you a very Happy Teachers Day. Teaching is your passion and will forever be. I will pray that nothing will happen to you.

As I end this post which I feel is futile, I hope that you will get to read this someday although you're still in the hospital as I type.

Remember this Miss Tan, we love you and hope you have a speedy recovery!

Your student,

Doggies!

I haven been updating lately, and that's because I'm working.

I have a phobia of feeling extremely dirty when touching dogs' fur or skin, and I would wash my hand whenever I touch my relatives' dogs.

But still, I think I would like to have one!

The first dog I liked was Jack Russel.

And then I like Dalmatians, after watching the Disney movie, Dalmations 101.

But now I start to like white furry dogs! (I know it sounds contradicting to my phobia!)

I start to like Eskimo dogs, because they're awesome and look great!

They're so nice!

I think I like dogs better, though it still cannot be on par with my interests with fishkeeping!

Oh and I would like to wish Liang Zhi a very happy 18th birthday!

A dose of reality.

Seriously, I'm so disappointed with Leo Club, which is a club that I joined. Months passed, and there aren't even one event that I've been to. And I'm not seriously interested in folding paper cranes.

I would like to help people, because it gives me an injection of reality, and how fortunate I am.

I signed up for going to childrens' home, where malay kids are abused, and put in that shelter.

I wanted to share their pain, and I wanted to teach them new stuff, and give them sweets.

That never happened. And now that I'm busy with work, it's impossible for me to participate in the club.

Sigh, forget it.

Speaking about reality, I'm sure Singaporeans will definitely have their daily doses of it.

CAN-COLLECTION

We're talking aluminium cans here. Everytime I eat in a coffeeshop or food centre, there will always be old people who collects aluminum cans as a living. They crush the can, and can be sold for 5 cents each.

I thought: Aren't they suppose to be enjoying life in their golden years? Why are they still earning a living?

On a sidenote, some of them can be irritating, because they force you to finish up the canned drink and pass it to them. Worse still, while you're eating, they just walk towards you and take the canned drink, giving it a light shake to see if there's still content inside. If there's still content, they'll walk away.

SCAVENGERS

I don't know if this word is abit too harsh, but I've seen such a person scavenging before. It's still emotionally-disturbing to me up till this day.

My colleagues and I were eating, and we saw this old lady feed herself with leftover food which other consumers did not want. She took the spoon, scoop it into a plastic ware, and TAKE AWAY the soup. I couldn't believe my eyes, because I thought it was impossible for it to happen in Singapore.

BUSKERS & BEGGARS

These people either beg for money, sell things or do some stunts to try and ask for money.

These people are probably either mutes, deaf, blind or have some parts of their body amputated.

Everytime we see one of these people, we either give them money, or just walk away.

For beggars, don't ever give them money easily. Some of them are able-bodied, and they might spend the money on cigarettes and continue to ask for more money.

After this post, I do hope you look at the enviroment around you, and whatever problems you have, you need to know this.
There WILL and ALWAYS be people who are less unfortunate than us.

We seriously need to appreciate ourselves.

Working.

Wow, I am working at Isetan at Shaw House, and I'm glad that so many people came to visit! Tomorrow's the last day and I'll be transferred to Takashimaya from Tuesday onwards.

The retail experience is fresh, and it broadened my perspective. Colleagues there are nice, and they taught me quite alot of things. I'm still learning though.

I managed to sell off some products, and I'm really pleased with myself.

And SITTING DOWN IS A BLESSING.

My main aim is to earn money. Yeah that's it.

Tuesday, August 21, 2007

The quest for job.

Ever since the holidays, my quest for a retail job kept delaying and delaying. My friends tried to help, but to not much avail.

I got really irritated as each day passes, because it means money. I'm not blaming anyone, but one person really irked me is the guy from Philips. I sent him a message and he didn't even reply. Terribly incompetent.

I really hope to gain some experience through this job, and that everything will be well. It's my first job experience, and I will be working till the end of September, in which I will quit after that, to pursue my 2nd semester.

I'm still thinking really hard if I should buy a digital camera, which will set me aside with a maximum of $700.

I was speaking to a fellow dive buddy yesterday, and HOW MUCH I WISH TO GO DIVING AGAIN!

Sigh..I want to earn and save more money for weekend dive trips after the holidays.

I will be missing calligraphy classes which is held every Tuesday, and I feel kinda guilty not attending it. It's a new skill, though I'm not really interested in learning it, I hope it don't affect much on our later projects..

I miss everyone..

10 weirdest things about me.

Okay, I've been tagged before by Lynette to do a quiz, about 6 weirdest things about me. It seems that I've been tagged by 3 people recently to do this quiz again; Shirley, Khai Theng and Zi Cai (Justin).

Here is the post which I did about the 6 weirdest things about me.

However, this quiz has its brief changed, to 10 weirdest things about me. I'm going to type about the 10 weirdest things, but I am not going to tag anyone. Wonder if anyone is interested:

NEW 10 WEIRDEST THINGS OR LITTLE KNOWN FACTS ABOUT ME

1. I like to take food all at one go and consume them, rather than taking a piece one at a time and eat it.
2. I like to sing in the bathroom. REAL LOUD.
3. I like to look in the mirror, and try to pose a muscular look.
4. I prefer to study all by myself during the night.
5. I like scuba diving, but I have a fear of deep sea water.
6. Girls with long hair always catch my attention first.
7. I'm a scaredy-cat, with no guts.
8. I sometimes like to bite my lips when I pose for a picture.
9. I'm someone who can forgive, but might not forget.
10. The most important thing that must be with me 24/7 is my N70 phone.

Yeah that's all about it. I think you people won't find them astonishing though.

Job..

Ok, I've managed to find a job, and shall be working till the end of September, before I fully enjoy my 2 weeks, and then the 2nd semester starts.

Before I continue, I wanna thank Chee Wei, Han Wen, Edmond and Zi Cai (Justin) for their help.

Ah, I was going out with Jeremy a few days ago, when he said something which struck me.

The topic Want vs Need.

You see, Want is something that you would like to have, and that it is not necessary for you to have it. Need is something that you need to have, in order to survival.

I need to earn money. As much as possible. So after I earn money, where should I spend the money? After giving my parents some money, I'm left the money which I can choose to spend.
Therefore, with the Want vs Need, I've decided to compile a list.

MUST-PAY LIST (No. according to importance)

1.Pay $132 for my Accutane pills.
2. Scuba Diving.

WANT LIST (No. according to desire)

1. Digital Camera
2. Scuba Equipment
3. A watch
3. Shoes
4. Clothes

Unlike other people who yearns for a Playstation Portable (PSP), I prefer to spend the money on scuba diving. I think I'm going to be hooked on PSP if I really buy it.

List might change anytime.

Something is weighing heavily on my mind, and that is to maintain a good relationship with the full-time employees in the job. I just wish everything will be smooth, and that the people (except my friends working there) will be as good as the people I met in Avida Logistics, though that seem kinda impossible.

Hmmmm...

2 months break.

Yay, finally a 2 months holiday break! It is definitely a well-deserved break, because the mounting assignments have brought to an end.

I'm the only one that has the privilege of having 2 months break, because I'm in the School of Design, and they don't have exams! My friends are having study breaks and mugging for exams. All the best guys!

It's time to do some soul-searching, and I need to work! I haven't found a job yet, and it's getting kinda desperate. I have like 9 weeks of holidays! I NEED MONEY! And I wanna go diving!

Anyway, I'm going to talk about my class. So far, I think VC0701 has been really great. Generally, people are friendly, and they like to laugh etc! Unity isn't there yet for the whole class, but I'm sure as time passes, we'll know each other better!

I guess I'm going to meet some of them soon, while others will be 2 months. I really hope that the few months with VC0701, I didn't offend anyone. :)

VC0701- with an awesome lecturer, Mr Ransome Chua.

See you guys in 2 months time.

Hungry Ghost Festival.

Yeah yeah, I'm blogging in the middle of the night, and the Hungry Ghost Festival is here, where the gates of Hell are opened, and ghosts roam freely around Earth for 1 month.

I really have this phobia of ghosts. Everytime I reach home at night, I would see if there is anybody near the stairs or something.

Just now, I had just finish another piece of assignment, which I was drawing myself. I was listening to the radio through my earpiece, as everyone has slept except me. The DJ then talk about ghost stories. I still don't know why I was so glued to it, and the more I listened, the more afraid I got.

I was so afraid that I thought the portrait of myself look straight back at me, and I thought it looked really scary.

Speaking of which, I think I really cannot draw my own face. It constantly reminds me of my scars, and the uglyness of my face. Guess low self-esteem will not leave me anytime sooner.

Anyway, ghosts are all around, so I think it's best not to loiter out too late, and remember this.

NEVER turn back if you hear someone calling your name in the middle of the night outside.

Criticism.

I had such an unpleasant day today, but luckily I was calm enough to talk to the lecturer.

She saw one of my artpiece and asked if anyone helped me, and thought some relatives helped me. I gave her my mum's number if she don't believed it.

She then compare my paintings with others. (Of course mine sucked)

She then proceed to say I'm the lowest in class. (Though currently I'm not)

She continue to say I didn't put in enough effort etc..

My brain sensed utter absurdity in every single point she mentioned, and I could rebutt so many points, but I don't want to. I think she's a nice lady, but I just going to say this:

I don't really care whether you think I put in enough effort in my assignments or not. I have done my best, and I can answer that to my soul, my body, my hands; simply myself. But by questioning the integrity of my work, I believe, is showing disrespect, humiliation and insult to me.

Bah, don't wanna go any further.

I went to Suntec City today, and I went to the area in the middle of the Fountain of Wealth. I felt better and happier after that.

Missing the sea...........
I know I've been ranting alot in my posts recently. I shouldn't have, because everyone has their own problems. Perhaps others have even more than me.
Someone guide me through please..

Feeling contemplative..

Recently, I've been listening to Angels by Robbie Williams. It kept repeating on my stereo speakers. The more I listen to it, the more I thought how meaningful the lyrics is, and how contemplative I felt about life.

The song Angels means alot to Robbie Williams, because it is the song that revived his career.

I was first introduced to this song by my English teacher Mr Malvin Lim a few years back, when he sang it in piano accompaniment in front of the whole class. The performance was good, and I really liked it.

Here are the lyrics:

I sit and wait

Does an angel contemplate my fate

And do they know the places where we go when we´re grey and old ´

Cos I´ve been told that salvation lets their wings unfold

So when I’m lying in my bed thoughts running through my head and I feel that love is dead

I’m loving angels instead

And through it all she offers me protection a lot of love and affection

Whether I’m right or wrong and down the waterfall wherever it may take me

I know that life wont break me when I come to call she wont forsake me

I’m loving angels instead

When I’m feeling weak and my pain walks down a one way street

I look above and I know ill always be blessed with love

And as the feeling grows she breathes flesh to my bones

And when love is dead I’m loving angels instead

And through it all she offers me protection a lot of love and affection

Whether I’m right or wrong and down the waterfall wherever it may take me

I know that life wont break me when I come to call she wont forsake me

I’m loving angels instead

This song has been with me through my emotional and hard times.

It somehows calms my soul, and it makes me ponder about certain issues.

When I watch Robbie William sang Angels in some of the videos in Youtube, I was deeply touched, and I even teared. He sang Angels way too soulfully.

The crowd were singing 'And do they know the places where we go, when we're grey and old', it makes me wonder how life is so mysterious, and that every single one of us will die eventually, but what really happens to us after death is something which no one knows.

I love this song totally, and just in case you never heard of this beautifully-composed song, here are the links to the song:

1. The song's MTV

2. The awesome concert clip (MUST WATCH!)

3. Another awesome clip (MUST WATCH TOO!)

Thank you Robbie Williams, and I guess...

I'm loving angels instead..

The show must go on.

Great, the lecturer which I have complained about in my previous posts (No, I'm not picking on him.) decided to cancel and postpone the class today because 1/2 of the class were absent.

I seriously don't understand why he must cancel the class. Some of us made the effort to come early to school for his lesson, and it's not as if no one turned up for his class.

I abhors this kind of reason, probably because I was a performer before. Allow me to give you an analogy. If a concert/movie/event is scheduled on a certain date, it must go on no matter how many people there are. Similarly, the class must go on even if there are only a few of us.
I think it makes alot of sense.

(I suddenly remember how my chemistry teacher Mrs Corinne Teo could even teach with only 1 student in the class when people didn't turn up for her remedial.)

I shall lament further.

I CANNOT VISIT MY BELOVED SECONDARY SCHOOL ON NATIONAL DAY EVE!

I've got a test tomorrow, but it lasts till only 10.30. But the lecturer's lesson (Yes yes, it's the one above.) pushed the whole time from 10.30am to 4pm tomorrow!

But thankfully, it's the last lesson we have with him, before the assessment day next tueday.

Still, drawing and rendering will still haunt me, and the thought of it makes me cringe like a slimeyball.

Concentrate on others.

I think it's high time I stop worrying about the stupid 12 portraits and do my other important work.

Damn it, I'm not in the right frame of mind, and to make matters worse, my beloved congo tetras and flying fox (these are fishes) died. I still cannot figure out how they die. Some have been months while the flying fox has been with me for more than 1 year.

Sigh.. I think they're probably in their own heaven..

On a different note, I sometimes wish I have a girlfriend, but I guess I'm feeling way too low about myself. A friend of mine named Wei Qi had a surprise (actually a group of us had a surprise) when her boyfriend suddenly appeared with a bouquet of flowers and presented it to her for their anniversary. IT'S SO ROMANTIC!

I also want to do some romantic things for my girlfriend too! I wanna bring her to an island like Pulau Dayang where we watch the starry night in awe together. Or propose to her in Maldives underwater where the fishes, crustaceans and turtles be our witnesses! Then, we'll use a heart-shaped surface marker buoy (if there's any) to mark our everlasting love!

Guess day-dreaming is up. Back to my relentless assignments..

When will I be breaking free?

Hanging in the balance.

My mood has improved slightly better, but the assignments aren't.

Next week will be the most hectic week of my polytechnic life. I've got 2 tests, and 4 assignments to hand up. The following week will be assessment day and another test, before the approximately 2 months holiday-break kicks in.

The only consolation I got from being so depressed, stressed and sad is that I got a distinction apart from Marilyn for my 1.5k report on an art painting, according to Mr Ransome Chua.

Speaking of him, I think he's a really great lecturer. He told me if I had any problems, I could find him.

I think I should treasure everyone. I've got great friends, family and even lecturers which I can talk to.

On an irrelevant note, I thought I look like a retard in the following photos:
P.S: Angie, I promise to draw you a Doraemon once the school is over okay?
