Final pool session.

No, we're not talking about pool, the one that is similar to Billard. But rather, swimming pool. Lame? Uh yes.

For the past 2 days, I've been having swimming pool sessions with other ODAC members. And gosh, I tell you, I was suntanned unevenly.

On Saturday.

We had our first pool session. We took a school bus to East Coast Park to go to a resort nearby. And everyone were pretty bored over the long journey.

Nothing to do..

And boredom was finally over when we reached the resort! We met up with the instructors and gave a briefing. After that, the instructors taught us how to put those scuba equipment. Everyone was getting excited. And everyone started wearing their wetsuits. I started wearing mine, XL, and I was extremely conscious of how I looked like because it seemed tight-fit. I wore it with no problems and started asking how do I look like.

And I have sicko friends who said "Wow, you look sexy!"

And I have Mr William Goh who said "Zhao Lun, you look cute!"

I wasn't interested in looks but my body! And I asked around again, and they said "You look okay in this. I then sighed a huge relief, thankful that my bulging stomach wasn't protruding out of the wetsuit.

Okay okay, I know you guys must be dying of how I look like right?

Here it is!

Haha, I think I look cool and muscular in this wetsuit. *Smirks*

Okay, enough of my crap.

And we proceeded to the pool with our equipments worn.

The pool that we were in.

We headed straight into the deep pool and its depth was 2.4m. At first, with the equipment, I was feeling weird and extremely heavy, with the air tank behind my tank. After I went to the pool, I felt alot better. But it wasn't staying long. Right after I put my regulator in my mouth for air, I panicked. I was feeling very bad and extremely tense. And my breathing wasn't normal. It was fast. The instructors kept asking me if I was okay. I just gave an okay sign. Luckily, I managed to pass the lessons underwater. Signs were important underwater. After a while, I got used to it and so were the others.

But Sin Wee got a nasty and bad experience. As far as my memory can tell me, Sin Wee was under the water when she had water or something in her mouth. In order to remove the water from her mouth, she decided to take the regulator out of her mouth and spit it out again, and put it (the regulator) back to her mouth. But no, it wasn't working. To make matters worse, her mouth was again filled with water. And she couldn't breathe, and started struggling. She kept struggling and struggling deep in the water, and until an instructor found out, he immediately took off his Buoyancy Compensator Device (BCD) and went to save Sin Wee. Fortunately, she was okay. What a bad scare!

On Sunday.

Today, we went to the same place again to scuba dive. I was already getting used to the equipments and was enjoying myself.

Everything went okay, with some lessons that we had to repeat under the water.

However, there was this emergency exercise that distressed me. All of us were underwater, and this particular lesson, was well, cut off the air supply from the air tank. One by one, the oxygen supply was cut off, and though we were out of air, we had to take off our weight belts and give it to the instructor. And we kicked the fins and rise up to the surface to breathe and inflate our BCD. It was abit frightening because you will pay alot of attention to your breathing.

Speaking of weight belts, I had to wear 6 weights under the weight belt, because my buoyancy was abit high, while others wear 3-4. This means that they could sink easier than me.

After that, we had to practice to get a netural buoyancy. And we swam around the pool to practice.

I also have to mention that I was extremely envious of Sin Wee and Han Wen. They were together, and they helped each other during the diving sessions, which makes me longing to have girlfriend. Bah, I knew I was dreaming.

Finally, the session ended with a lesson teaching us how to jump from the boat into the open sea when we go to Pahang, Malaysia.

That's all for the pool sessions, and I'm sure all of us look forward to next Friday's Pulau Tioman trip!

What a busy week!

I've been very very busy these days. My schedules are so tight. I've been staying back almost everyday.

For this week:
Monday-- Personal Remedial + Choir Sectionals.
Tuesday-- History Remedial.
Wednesday-- Nothing at the moment.
Thursday-- D&T Remedial.
Friday-- Weekly Chinese Test.

If this weren't enough, Mr Devan and Ms Tan are going to give us remedials too. It's so jam-packed. And I have so much homework to do! Sigh..

On a total irrelevant note, I've been told that during my absence of going to my grandmother's house for dinner, my aunts were making fun of me or something. My mom told them that I was going Scuba Diving in Mandarin. They were flabbergasted and questioned "Are you sure?" And my father, being a smart-aleck on that day, told them that I was going SNORKELLING instead of SCUBA DIVING. They then decided that I was going on snorkelling, thinking that I couldn't possible go scuba-diving. One of my aunt even smirked when she was told that I was going "Snorkelling."

What is wrong with these people? Why are they so surprised that I'm going Scuba-Diving.? Is it because I'm slightly overweight? Or is is other factors? I could remembered clearly that when I told one of my aunts that one of my ambitions were to be a marine diver, instead of encouraging me, she asked me this question. "Do you know how to swim?" And another relative of mine, when I told him my ambition, he said "You need to separate fact from reality."

What remarks!

And I guess I shall give one excerpt that I read from the Diving Manual to comment on this.

"The world is made up of 70% water, and you have a license to explore it."

Guess what am I trying to say?

Campus Superstar!

I was invited by Jia Yi to join her for today's Campus Superstar survival round. How nice of her, but I had to accompany her to Shenton Way to get the tickets because she received a SMS that she won 2 tickets.

So today, we took Bus 165 from Hougang Bus Interchange to Mediacorp which took around 4o-50 minutes.

MediaCorp. (Taken after the show.)

When we reached there in late evening, we went to the building, where we saw lots of hired cabs coming to Cadlecott to watch Campus Superstar, mostly students.

Wow so many people!

There so many students crowding the area, but we spotted somebody.

Guess who?

FELICIA!!!

Not only her, but we saw Heng Wai, Yu Wei and the others, and were even surprised to see Pei Ting!!!

Jia Yi and me went into the waiting room first because they have not received their tickets from their friend and were waiting for that guy.

We went to the waiting room, and were greeted with this sight.

It was so crowded and so stuffy and people were crammed and we tried to squeeze ourselves in.

After they opened the gates, people cut queues and join their fellow schoolmates. Luckily, we were among the first to get in and we managed to find a seat.

Students trying to find a seat in the studio.

And this is the stage which is surprisingly small!

Also, the front seats of the studios had to be occupied by the fans of the 12 Campus Superstar contestants; only fans who wore school uniform only. And I tell you, the arrangement for them was simply pathetic. There were lots of mixed-up of where to seat etc. Jia Yi and me secured 2 seats but later on, we suddenly found ourselves as Geraldine's fans, though I supported Sheena only.

Just in case you doesn't know who Geraldine is, here's a picture:

I chat up with a female fan of Geraldine, and she was so excited about Geraldine.

Finally, when 8pm strikes, the live show begins, and ALL OF US BEGAN SCREAMING AND SHOUTING, with our eardrums blasted with full volume of high and piercing soprano voices. But it's for the show right?

JunYang, Sugianto and Zhen Rong (not in picture) as Campus Superstar hosts. (Pardon me for the poor quality and the right man who was accidentally captured.)

And it was time for the contestants to come up!

The 6 female contestants.

The 6 male contestants.

And they sang and sang as one man show, and I was extremely excited about Sheena. Most of them sang very well, and throughout the whole show, including breaks, my ears were not spared from the screaming of the fans. And I tell you, Adriano had a very huge fan base. When he sang 'Will you marry me?' many of the fans replied 'I do.' Samuel sang Lian Ai ING and brought the whole stuido into the mood, and most of us sang along with him. The others did reasonably well too.

Anyway, here are some cool shots:

Sheena singing.

Geraldine singing.

Sugianto hosting the show live in front of the camera.

And by the way, we didn't stayed back to look at the results.

That's all for now!

I'm watching the results from TV now and Sheena is eliminated. So sad, but I'm also happy for Geraldine.

First lesson for Scuba Diving.

It's official. I'm in for Scuba Diving. I was flabbergasted when I saw I had more than a whopping $1000 in my Edusave account. We went to SAF Yacht Club and learned some theory lesson. We learned how to dismantle the scuba equipment and vice versa. The speaker had a great sense of humour, and made us laugh all the way through. I learned new things like Buoyancy Compensator Device (BCD) and things like inflation tube and other stuff. And I finally knows that the tank that a diver carries is not an oxygen tank, but rather an air tank or cylinder. The lesson was great, and so are the instructors. I look forward to the upcoming Saturday and Sunday's pool lesson, before we go to Pulau Tioman on 3rd of March!

Happy Valentines.

Geez, it's Valentine's Day. And I'm spending it alone. When I wished people Happy Valentines Day, there's this sort of bitterness inside me that I couldn't spend it with my girlfriend. I didn't had this bitterness inside me for the past few years, and I cannot explain why this year's Valentines Day was so significant to me. In order to console myself, I've decided to post about, well, my ideal girlfriend!

I love girls who have nice and lustrous hair, and they should be gentle. Most importantly, they must have a gracious smile.

I shall give 3 examples.

Sheena from Campus Superstar.

Selina from S.H.E.

Charlene from Twins.

These are girls whom fit my description for an ideal girlfriend. Anyway, though I'm spending Valentines Day alone, I guess I should be contented with the mega S.H.E poster that's pasted to my wall!

Also, Happy Birthday Koon Xian!

Some news.

Now for some good news.

I'm going scuba-diving! I'm going to learn how to scuba-dive and be a step closer to my dreams of being part of the Underwater World. I'm so excited! It costs around $400+ and hopefully it will be subsidised. I will be going with a group of a CCA called Outdoor Activities Club (ODAC). It is the only CCA that provides such activities, and though I'm not part of the CCA, Ms Audrey Tan and my fellow friends kindly invited me to join them, although I'm pretty aware that some of the members there may think I am an "extra". So I'm going to be ignorant, as the saying goes, ignorance is bliss. Anyway, the course will start a few weeks time. I will bring my camera along and post some pictures! Geez, I can't wait!

Also, my couple krib, bore me some cute little babies! I was looking at the tank and was shocked to find the babies! Since the cichlids are mouthbrooders and according to my research, they wouldn't eat the babies and will take care of them and search for food, my mind is at ease. What good news!

The Choir will be performing for the school this Saturday for the Homecoming concert. I doubt we will put a good performance because of our extremely tight schedule and because of the hall. Choir cannot be heard in the hall as the slide doors are wide open and not designed to suit the performing arts I guess. But we will try our best.

This news is probably going to be ridiculous to you.

The performing arts are going to perform in the Golden Jubilee Concert a few months later. And guess what? We have to buy the seat tickets. Imagine the surprise I felt when I heard Ms Quek said the performers have to buy the seat tickets even though we are performing. The seat tickets costs $17 each and paid by Edusave.

But isn't it LUDICROUS?! I'm a performer in the concert, and yet I have to buy the concert tickets and will performing. Wow, does that mean that if Stefanie Sun stages a concert here, she will have to pay for one concert ticket?

Now for some questions that may shot back at me:

You can purchase the ticket and ask one of your relative to go.

Save not, being a chorister for 4 years, I've never ever asked my relatives to go to concerts or school events that I performed, let alone the Jubilee Concert. Since that's the case, isn't it a waste of money?

You should support the school by buying the tickets and the school is celebrating its 50th Anniversary.

Wait a minute. I'm already supporting by performing for the audience. Why should I buy a ticket which I cannot see and watch the performing arts perform?

On this point of time, I cannot think of any questions.

But for this controversial issue, I can say that it's unjustified and unfair.

Chinese New Year Celebrations

This year's Chinese New Year Celebrations isn't as nice as the previous years. I couldn't feel the enthusiasm.

Anyway, during Chinese New Year Eve, we had reunion dinner! The mood was pretty good, and the spreadings were wonderful.

The sumptuous steamboat reunion dinner.

Let the dinner begin!

With our ravenous appetite, we ate and ate... until I forget to take more pictures.

And after that, we had the Lo Hei.

And we toss and turn.. toss and turn..

Toss until it spilt out..

And we kept saying the auspicious greetings that you can think of.

Cool! I don't really like the taste, but for the sake of Chinese New Year, I ate it.. Yucks!

And over the next few days, I went to relatives' houses and collected lots of angbaos, which my money accumulated to around $300. Too bad I couldn't touch the money, and have to put it inside my bank.

We took alot of pictures.. But I show you some:

Cousin Eunice and me.

Cousin Shermaine and me.

and last but not least,

Chihwahwa WingWing and me. (First time pose with a dog)

Hehe, I would like to wish everyone all the best in their studies, career, and everything!

Happy Chinese New Year! PUNKS!
