Celebrating Jia Yi's birthday!

We were celebrating Jia Yi's belated birthday today. We went to Orchard Cineleisure to dine in Yuki Yaki, a place where there's steamboat and sushi stuff.

We reached there at around 2pm and started dining.

Oh my, I'm drooling!

Want to have a sip?

Anyway, we were eating and having fun when I miraculously snapped a shot of Justin. Guess what was he doing?

Justin's narcisstic behaviour. He think he's a very handsome lad.

Anyway, we ate quite alot and here are some of the pictures we took:

After eating at Cineleisure, we went to play basketball at the court behind Nan Chiau High School. It was a nice game, but I was exasperated because there were people playing soccer at the basketball court. They used the pillars that are supporting the basketball ring post as a goal post. They should have find other place to play soccer. A basketball court is MEANT for basketball. Not some sort of other sports.

Also, I recieved my report book today. Here it is:

My results. The Co-Curricular Activities is B3 by the way.
(Please ignore the strand of hair.)

Another page of the results.

P.S: I'm aiming to lose weight before the Graduation High Tea and is doing so now. I swear.

And I'm extremely delighted! Finally, my blog had reached 3000 viewers, nothing compared to Xiaxue. But it's a good result. My dear readers, please continue to support my blog okay? Haha!

The Blog and The Law.

Mr Reduan, our Discipline Master talked to us in the morning assembly about blogging. He was asking who owns a blog, and warn the school that defamatory remarks in a blog can be sued. He even went to the extend of explaining the meaning of a personal diary and a blog.

Also, if my mind serves me right, he said that we doesn't know how to blog properly. He reminds us about the Friendster case that happened last year, and that he wanted to wear his police uniform when he decided to talk about this subject. He also said he had people who will inform him about offensive blogs; probably students, adding on to constantly remind the school that he is both a discipline master and a police officer.

Being a blogger myself, I know that if you defame somebody, you can be sued depending on the situation.

But have you ever asked yourself why are you being defamed?

Instead of threatening or warn bloggers that they can be sued, why not ask them why did they do such a thing? Listen to their comments and do some soul-searching. Put yourself in each other shoes and excogitate. Personally, I feel that when someone defames a person, it shouldn't be done maliciously, and when I mean maliciously, I mean overboard. If they do it overboard, they will repent and regret, but on the othe hand, you must also think about your own actions.

So please do not keep using lawsuits or whatsoever to pressure/threaten people. There are definitely other alternative methods to solve defamatory problems.

I wanted to type even more, but it was already late and I felt superfluous to do so.

Either you agree with me, or you don't.

Bridging course.

North Vista Secondary School implemented a scheme called the Bridging Course. Generally, it is a period of time where students still have to come back to school to learn new chapters of different subjects to prepare them for a notch level, all the way till 19 November; specially meant for 3Es, 3NAs and 4NAs.

Sensible people will see the Bridging Course as a benefit, as well as a bonus because not every school has such a similar scheme. Immature people will think that it is a waste of time, unless they are preparing to leave the school or to other institutions. Nevertheless, everyone will have to go for the Bridging Course. (Especially the Sec 4NAs)

In the students point of view (Sec 4NAs), they were exasperated because the scheme was prolonged, from 2 weeks to around 1 month. Worse still, the school did not ask for their opinions and suggestions. The school also threatened (in this case, threaten is a better word than warn) the students that if they did not turned up for the Bridging Course, they would conclude that they are not interested in coming back for Secondary 5. The school will refuse to admit the students back to Secondary 5 even if they pass their 'N' levels or had a change of mind.

In my point of view, even though the Bridging Course was implemented for the benefit of us, they should ask for our opinions instead of making their own decisions. I felt it was incorrect for the school to force the Secondary 4NAs to come back even if they don't wish to, because if they don't had the right mentality and attitude, they may not make it in 'N' levels, much less 'O' levels.

As the saying goes "Once bitten, twice shy." will apply. If they are retained or fail their exams, they will regret it and excogitate at a point of time. The school had done their best but should not force the students with their tactics. In fact, they used it on lower secondary students by threatening the students not to give back their report books if they do not pay the money that they should (Complusory). Though effective, I see it as an odious, disgusting and harsh way. The school should really find better ways and should review the methods that they use.

Still, students cannot challenge the school's authority. We would have to see the Bridging Course as a benefit for us.

(With that, this post is based on my honest opinions without any favouritism and is NOT liable for anything.)

Not feeling well.

I was not feeling well today. I had a stomach upset and I nearly vomit just now. No appetite whatsoever.

Anyway, I'm excited because the tickets for the Singapore Polytechnic concert are out. It costs $10 each. Though it's quite expensive, it's the first time North Vista Chorale participated in a concert. So it's alright.

I've been busy by ordering tickets for some of my seniors. And they were excited to go too.

Also, I will probably blog about a topic tomorrow; the bridging course.

Class 4N2.

From the beginning of Secondary 3, I had a negative impression of Class 4N2. In fact, I abhors the class. Because I did not get to the class I wanted; 4N1. Most of my best friends were there. Besides, I did not get the subject I wanted, which was Additional Mathematics, although I knew I sucked in Maths. In the end, I had to take a subject called Design and Technology.

Now, for the past 1 year and 9 months, my impression of Class 4N2 changed for the better. In fact, I love not all, but most of the students in my class. And my circle of friends expanded tremendously.

Also, I'm thankful that I didn't take Additional Mathematics because my friends said it was extremely difficult and many had to drop the subject.

Recently, our form teacher Miss Chen gave out the class photos that we ordered.

I ordered all 4 of them because some of our classmates are going to retain or going to the Institute of Technical Education (ITE). Besides, it was for memory and sentimental purposes.

Being a student, I felt that our secondary school's naivity of aiming 100% passes for the both classes 4N1 and 4N2 were seemingly impossible.

Class 4N2 with the School Hall as the background.

Class 4N2 with the school as the background.

An informal photo!

Class 4n2 with the special effects. Boy, do we look fat!

The autographs that most of my friends have signed for me.

To be honest, I was browsing at the photos just now. In retrospect, looking at the teachers and students innocuous faces, their funny actions, their glamorous smiles and their strong friendship, really melts my heart while recalling the memories of some of their incorrigible behaviours, their contagious laughter and their loquaciousness. Perhaps this is what make up 4N2.

I see the pictures as the last pictures for a class gathering. I know that some of them will be going to other institutions, or will be retained, or will be working. This is the final memories of Class 4N2'05.

So readers (Especially the 4NAs), treasure your classmates during the bridging course before the 'N' level results are released. 35 (General) pupils in each class. 35 different fates. 35 different destinies. One day, one of us may bite the dust earlier than others. One day, one of us may be a millionaire. We will never know what the future has in store for us. So people, let us treasure our friends, our classmates for the limited quality time that we possess before the results are released.

So please, treasure your friends, treasure them..

The night of regret.

I was reprimanded by my father yesterday. I was in the living room, watching TV, and thinking to turn in. My father then came back and realise he forgot to bring back his handphone and asked me to retrieve it from his car.

I refused, reasoning that it was already 12.35am and said I'll take it for him in the morning. When I was in my bed, going to sleep, he suddenly came out from his bath and called me 'lazy', 'useless'.

He then called my younger brother to take the phone, and my mom accompanied him to go to the carpark, dead of the night. He then further on saying it was just a simple request, and said "What is this kind of son, hmph!" and further on using vulgarities such as "Fuck". I pretended to sleep while I hear his rantings. And he went to my bedroom and said: "Zhao Lun, you hurt me." I apologised and he said: "Sorry, no use." He then threatened by not paying the electricity bills and sees how we feel, using an indignant tone throughout the whole reprimanding.

Perhaps I should have known better to obey him. And this is probably the first time my refusal irritated him and he scolded me. Yes, he only eats his dinner at around 12am and I should go and help him. But I didn't realise that. I just refused without thinking. Maybe I should obey his instructions even though it is already late in the night.

But then again, he called me lazy, useless. Just for this SIMPLE request? He's hurt, I'm not?

He asks me to look at his perspective. He's tired after the work, he hasn't taken his dinner etc. Yes, I understand that. I fully understands that.

Why not he takes a look at my perspective? I'm tired, it's already 12.35am. And to take a handphone in the dead of the night is something uncommon.

I excogitated, and felt I should relent and obey him. He's my father. I can't do anything against him. Maybe this incident may deteriorates the relationship between me and my father.

It may be a controversial issue, but I still have to obey him without any choice.
Sorry, dad.

We went to Plaza Singapura to catch a movie!

We went to Plaza Singapura to watch a movie. We went together as a group namely Zi Cai, Han Wen, Sin Wee, Chee Wei, Felicia, Guan Jie, Jeremy and me.

I was surprised when Zi Cai gave me a birthday present in advance. He said he had to prepare for his 'O' level Maths and couldn't give me a present on the day. It was the day of 'O' level Maths Paper 1. Anyway, it was a very nice Giordano T-Shirt given by him. Thanks Zi Cai!

We reached Plaza Singapura and was intending to watch a movie called, The Wig. It was a korean horror movie and was NC-16. I was extremely guilty. Everyone in the group was already 16 years old but I was the only one who wasn't. My birthday was 7 November, but the manager refused to accept me as I hadn't reach sweet sixteen.

Luckily, my good friends racked their brains and solve the problem. And I managed to sneak in by using Chee Wei's EZ-Link card. (Do I look like Chee Wei?) Before that, I was extremely guilty and uneasy because I fear the plot wouldn't work and they had to rack their brains all because of me. Also, Han Wen and Sin Wee lost their movie tickets because of me, although they still got in.

To make matters worse, the story plot of the wig was more like a touching movie than a horror movie. I wonder if they have serious languange defiency because they can't seem to differentiate between touching or scary. (I won't include spoilers) In short, it was mediocre. My rating? 4/10.

Also, we met some people at Plaza Singapura too. Justin, Jerry, Ivan, Clement, Derrick, to name a few. Some of them kindly went to The Heeren with me because I wanted to buy a wallet. The exorbitant price of a Billabong wallet costs a whopping $50 at 77th Street! And my budget was only around $20+.

So we went to The Wallet Shop at The Heeren. The kind salesgirl approached me and showed me some brands. She promptly asked me what was my budget and I gladly answered her. She was polite and keep smiling at me. And I agreed to buy it, I saw her wink at the counter girl and showed a hand gesture that meant okay. She probably earn commission from it.

In the end, I bought a wallet brand called Myuk that costs $26. It was simple yet nice. As the saying goes: Simplicity is beauty.

Anyway, I would like to thank Zi Cai for his wonderful present!

And those who were in our group, if you are reading this, I apologise for the unnecessary problems and inconvenience caused.

Out for quite some time.

My family doctor told me that I was medically exempted for Physical Education (P.E). And guess the duration? At least two weeks! Apparently, my toe nail cracked and it needed time for it to grow and heal. The doctor told me I cannot jog/run at all.

Now, I couldn't run at all for at least two weeks. My weight-loss plan had to be delayed. And now, I can only cut down my food intake.

The East Coast Park trip.

We went to East Coast Park today because some of our friends organised a barbeque. I didn't understand why they chose East Coast because it is very far from our place and troublesome.

Anyway, we took Bus 119 to a place near Jiayi's house. Then, we took Bus 55 to East Coast Park. And we had to walked for a long distance. Of course, we were bored.

Yingying and Yan Tong took a picture while walking.

And then, we came across Tao Nan School.

Tao Nan School.

And they even had this section, which I was wowed.

East Zone Centre of Excellence for Mathematics. Wow, if you enroll in the school, your Maths grade get A1 is it?

And we finally reached the tunnel which leads us to East Coast Park.

The seemingly long and eternal tunnel.

And finally, we reached East Coast Park!

The fresh and clean air of East Coast Park!

And we proceed to the barbeque pit.

The barbeque pit!

The food!

Again, we played in the sea; only a few of us. The tide was too high and felt it was quite dangerous even though we knew how to swim. No pictures though. Anyway, a belated birthday celebration was celebrated for Jeremy and Ji Cai.

The birthday cake!

The birthday boys; from left: Jeremy, Ji Cai respectively.

Celebrating for the birthday boys!

Cutting the cake. By the way, that's not their hand. It's Derrick's hand. Because it's for the pose only. Haha!

And then, we had the much anticipated move. Guess what is it?

SMASHING THEIR FACES RIGHT INTO THE CAKE!

Poor thing, more pimples will be grown in their faces.

Of course, besides that, we took lots of pictures. 101 pictures to be exact. Here are some of these pictures taken:

Jeremy, Han Wen, Gabriel, Wei Chong, Vincent, Jun Ping, Ji Cai and me (Clockwise)

Gabriel, me, Wei Chong, Ah boon, Derrick, Ji Cai and Ivan. (Clockwise)

Khai Theng and me!

Daphne and me acting cute!

Gabriel, me and Jason!

Jeremy, Jun Ping, Vincent, Ji Cai, Chu Xiang, Jason, Wei Chong, me and Han Wen. (Clockwise)

All in all, everyone of us had great fun. Fun day indeed. However, during the past 3 days, I suffered cuts at my feet and worse of all, my toe nail cracked. Disgusting? Yes. I'm going to see a doctor tomorrow. And I cannot start jogging soon because it needs to be healed.

Anyway, I really hope we could have a gathering like this soon.

The Sentosa trip.

We had lots of fun today in Sentosa. We went as a group; Zi Cai, Liang Zhi, Clarence, Chu Xiang, Vincent, Jerry and me.

We went in the afternoon and boarded the MRT train. After that, we boarded the bus that would bring us to Sentosa.

On the bus to Sentosa!

Welcome to Sentosa!

And we finally stepped into the little island. Of course, we doesn't have money to go to tourist places such as the Underwater World or Dolphin Lagoon.

We went to Siloso Beach! The beach where men lust besides Palawan Beach!

Beautiful sceneries. All taken by me!

And guess what? Humans not only patronize the beach, but peacocks too!

They too, like men, trying to spot babes and lust.

Okay, enough of those. Well, we have lots of fun in the sea, swimming and playing.

Boys will always be boys.

We took some great pictures too!

Chu Xiang with me!

Vincent and me!

Chu Xiang, Vincent and me!

Liang Zhi, Clarence, Jerry and me!

Zi Cai and me!

If you had spotted that the previous photos, the guys were topless and I was the only one who wasn't, it was because due to my size, my chest was bigger than them. Inferior? Yes.

Anyway, we had lots and tons of fun today. Great day yeah! It was a fun but tiring day. And I'm going to East Coast Park tomorrow! I'll blog about it tomorrow night!

The Pasir Ris trip.

We went to Pasir Ris Park today. We were on the way in the bus when Mrs Yap called and asked me how did I feel about the N level Mathematics paper. She shows concern for me and I appreciates it. Thanks Mrs Yap.

Clarence proposed to walk to Pasir Ris Park from a bus stop. We walked and talked, walked and talked.

Exploring our surroundings.

While we walk, we pick things from the ground!

Anyway, I had a surprise while walking to Pasir Ris Park. I saw Hui Fen, my choir senior, who’s enrolled at Hwa Chong Junior College. It’s been months since I saw her, and she is still as pretty as gorgeous! Oh my! We exchanged a few words and about choir matters. She gave me her number so that I could contact her for the choir concert. Also, she is rich; she lives in a bungalow. Wow! Got the looks and the brain. Perfect!

Jealous friends taking our photo. *blushes*

Clarence lusting for her even after she went back home. Pervert!

There was not much people. We swam in the sea and wrestled, coming out finishing moves like RKO, Chokeslam and Bulldog. We are childish, but we are just relieving our childhood memories.

The blue-but-not-clear sea.

Besides having activities in the sea, we buried Clarence in the sand.

The process on burying his body.

Look at him, smiling so graciously despite being buried. He loves to be buried!

After that, some people went to play football while others fly a kite. Yes, fly a kite. We are still young. We played even after the sun has set. I lost severe weight because there wasn’t any wind, and I had to run around like an idiot to keep the kite up in the sky. It did not last long in the sky. But it lasted long enough to drain my body.

Getting ready to leave Pasir Ris Park after the whole afternoon.

There should be more pictures, but I didn't had the time to load them; the time taken was too long.

I will blog another trip tomorrow; I am going to Sentosa with some of my friends! It is going to be a tiring yet exciting day tomorrow. I will blog about it tomorrow late at night!
