The end of 2007..

It's the end of 2007, and it's time to do some self-reflection and excogitate on this particular year..

This year has been a terrible year for me I guess, because whenever I think of 2007, the feeling of uncertainty, lost, and hopelessness of 'O' levels results just keep flooding back into my mind.

My choice, between a junior college or a polytechnic, still remained as the most controversial decision of my life.

I got really emotional because I kept brooding over to the negative side of life, and I really struggled badly. My thinking was way beyond the depth of my imagination, far more than what my brain can decipher. In short, I nearly went bonkers thinking of the definition of life.

It was a year for me when I myself notice that I've changed; Ignorant, daring, and somehow defiant. However, I became more affable, comical and outspoken.

Is it a part and parcel of life? I really don't know.

It was also this year when I found my passion grew stronger than before.

I just love the feeling of being in another dimension, and appreciate the beauty of underwater marine life..

And not forgetting new friends which I've made..

and the old ones as well...

Lastly, I was infatuated with this girl when I was acting in Nanyang Polytechnic..

No love life currently, and I guess I don't want to rush things for now.

As I summarise my self-reflection of the year, I hope to improve myself in any way possible, and to gain better experience, wisdom and insights in everything I do. Most importantly, interact with people from all walks of life, and I hope to know about their views about certain topics in life.

And I would like to wish everyone...

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2008!

M&M trip..

M&M, which probably stands for Mutten & Mittens, is an animal shelter located at Pasir Ris farmway. Some of the dogs are ready for adoption, while they still remain as "unwanted" animals.

Wei Qi, Han Wen and I were lucky enough to be the few who can pass through the restricted access.

From young, I used to have this phobia and habit that once I touch a dog, I will wash my hands immediately. But the trip gave me a fresh new experience, and I really think that dogs are lovely animals.

Patting the dog called Girly..
With Yellow..
With a husky..
Of course, not every dogs are adorable, as there are the more aggressive ones..
They grit their teeth and flashed it against me..
Totally love this dog...
Hopefully, I'll go back again soon! Man, I really love huskies!

Christmas presents..

Went to countdown for Christmas with my friends. And it was indeed glad to see everyone staying healthy and well. Countdown was a bore, but seeing my friends were enough to salvage that.

Anyway, this year's Christmas presents given by relatives and friends have been very thoughtful, and besides expressing my appreciation and gratitude, I really don't know what else to say.

Yingying gave me this 4-leaf clover, which I thought was really meaningfully.

I felt it was very thoughtful, and I'm intending to use this handphone strap when I change my N70 phone next year.

Liang Zhi gave me something practical and useful: A packet of Bamboo Charcoal

I didn't realise the amazing power of bamboo charcoal, until now. It's going to be placed inside my bag to keep those emitting rays away, and to prevent pungent smell from getting in.

Aunt Caroline gave me a bottle of perfume, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to use it for a long time!

On second thoughts, it's the one which Yingying and Jiayi gave to me for my birthday present! It's going to be displayed in my room for quite some time!

Jia Yi gave me a photo frame, with a picture of my 17th birthday celebration. Ah, memories.

And it accompanied with a caption that says: "Friend is understand us and shares our feelings."

Well-thought I must say, and I would put this inside my room.

Last but not least, the most extravagant present I've ever received is the Macbook.

I finally got a laptop, which I thought was quite important for my school work.

However, this person must remain anonymous.

I still trying to figure out how to use it, and up till now, I must say it is AWESOME!

Anyway, thanks to those who gave me these presents, and I am indeed grateful! Thanks for the thoughtfulness guys!

Irresponsible? I won't work for you.

I'm not going to work for this coming week except on Thursday.

Actually, one of them asked me to work tomorrow, but being furious with that guy, I decided to give a straight no to him.

You know someone is irresponsible, when he calls you and ask if you can work the next day, than find a replacement without informing you, leaving you in the lurch.

Sigh, when will people ever learn? And to add that I believe I always have a strong sense of responsibility, when it comes to organising events.

So that leaves me today with no plans to meet up with friends thanks to that guy, so I guess I'm going to finish all my painting homeworks by today and do some research for Studio Project, and that left with Typography and Ergonomics projects.

And no, it's not a blessing in disguise.

Nothing much to update about..

This particular week is just mainly about work, so there's really nothing much.

I intend to go out almost the next whole week, and probably leave a day for me to do my paintings. Bloody assignments, can't they even leave me alone during the holidays?

Watched a youtube video about this woman sharing her thoughts about life. Felt really calm and reflected of my life abit, ah how I wish I have the wisdom of hers. But I guess I'm learning lessons of everyday life. Thank you Ysabella.

I don't really look forward to this year's Christmas, because I rarely attends a Christmas party. The only one I attended was a family friend who invited us to her house that was a proper one; with turkey, exchanging of presents, christmas tree, etc. There were quite alot of people, many of whom are caucasians. Sigh, too bad they already migrated to Australia..

Will blog more soon..

Heroes..

I myself love to watch cartoons like X-Men when I was a kid, and my favourite mutant was Wolverine.

Even when they had the X-Men movie, I really do like it alot because it looked so real.

But now, welcome to the new era of X-Men, the English drama:

It is where these "special" people discover their special powers and come together and fight an enemy to save the world.

Think the plot is stupid and lame?

YOU ARE WRONG.

With powers such as invisibility, telekinesis, life regeneration, bending time, and ALOT MORE powers, it is impossible to miss this one.

I so regret why I missed this one earlier because they came to Singapore months ago on their world tour.

I'm just one of those who got hooked into this awesome drama, and I'm a willing one.

A lesson learnt for $5.

Despite being 18 years of age, I haven't really seen anyone really as ugly as this, and I'm talking about actions, not looks.

You see, this particular schoolmate of mine started borrowing money from me, $5 to be precise. I'm not the only one, and he proceeded to borrow from my other friends $5, $6, and $20 respectively.

However, when my friend pursued the $20 from him, he gave lots of excuses, and empty promises.

He then absent himself for 2 weeks including this week, and he blocked most of us in MSN messenger.

We also learnt that he owes a girl $100+ and some other money from other students as well.

What really makes my blood boil whenever I think of what he said to me before is that how snobbish he can be:

"At least I don't wear S&K."

S&K, which stands for Samuel and Kevin is a fashion apparel which sells low-range items.

Yes, he wears branded stuff like Banana Republic, its t-shirts around $100+. How bout a limited edition Adidas jacket for $179? And also brands like Levi's.

I wouldn't even write all these if he had some problems and talked to us about it or even apologise. Instead, he decided to escape the whole thing by blocking us on MSN, and disappearing from our lives.

Most importantly, what really baffles me is how rich he appears to be, he is unable to return people any money. Makes me wonder if he bought those branded stuff off the borrowed money.

I don't harbour any thoughts of getting the $5 because if he cannot even settle bigger debts, what's mine compared to them? Speaking of which, I don't intend to get it back because it's not about the money. It's a matter of principles.

And this is a reply to "him":

"I might be wearing low-range apparels, but I don't owe people money or at most, CENTS. You, on the other hand wears high-range stuff, and presented yourself as a rich kid, and you can even throw a brand new palette with only little amount of black postal paint away without reusing it.

I sleep every day with a clear conscience that I don't OWE and CHEAT people money. Most importantly, I don't VICTIMISE MY FRIENDS, MAKE USE OF THEM, AND RUN AWAY."

Oh and by the way, if personality is merely a presentation, than you have failed terribly.

Hooked!

I'm officially hooked on the popular American series, Heroes! It's TOTALLY AWESOME! Claire Benett is quite pretty!

And guess what people? I'm on Facebook as well! I'm still a klutz as to how things function..

All I know is that these 2 are seriously addictive!

Anyway, just wanna wish Chee Wei all the best for his army life, and I apologise for not coming to today's gathering, because I had lesson till 9pm. Hope you learn lots of things there, and let's go out whenever you're free! Take care!

Utter Rubbish..

Singapore Design Festival has started, and as design students, we have to go and take a look..

We went to this place called "UTTER RUBBISH"

Entry is $3 per person, and you'll get a goodie bag. Actually, there's nothing much inside, because it's mainly filled with brochures.

Shall post some photos taken there:

Shall end here, and blog soon..

Mrs Yap's wedding.

Mrs Yap-Wee Ee Ching, my favourite and best teacher got marred 2 days ago, at the Orchid Country Club.

To be honest, Mrs Yap's wedding is the grandest and most extravagant one that I've ever been to.

Xi Boon, Zi Cai, Feng Wei and I met up before we went to the place. It's a virgin visit for me, and the country club was big!

When we reached the place, there were many directions to how to go to our destinations.

They booked the awesome GRAND BALLROOM!

The stairway to the Grand Ballroom.

The reception outside, and waiters were serving us drinks.

The beautiful Grand Ballroom.

Nice wedding photo! They look so sweet!

One of the most awesome things in her wedding is that she actually had the North Vista Symphonic Band to play for her wedding LIVE, and it blended really well.

When I marry my girlfriend next time, I'll get the whole of Choir to help me!

Here is the video of the opening of Mrs Yap's wedding when the food is served.

I have to mention that the food is unlike other wedding dinners that I've been to, and that's because Mr and Mrs Yap are vegetarians, so it's definitely different.

Anyway, here's the beautiful wedding couple!

White prince and princess.

The second entrance of the couple were cooler, because they managed to get those mini vehicles and use it for their wedding..

Look at where they're standing on.

NICE RIGHT?! All eyes and attention were on them while they pass by.

What a great idea for an entrance.

And here is the traditional Yam-Seng..

Ok, so here are the pictures:

Acting cool.

Xi Boon and I.

The 3 guys.

The people who sat with us; band members..

Jason and I..

Ms Chen, Xi Boon and I..

Mdm Yao, Xi Boon and I..

With Jason, Ms Xu, Ms Chen, Xi Boon, Feng Wei..

Wedding couple and us..

With the beautiful bride.

With the wedding couple!
Ok that's all. Really had a great night. I truly wish Mr and Mrs Yap have fun in their honeymoon, and hope they spend the rest of their lives together happily and blissfully.

Happy Birthday Mom!

This post should have been dated back yesterday, but because I was WAY too tired, I hope it still isn't late.

Just wanna thank my mom for the infinite contribution to this family, and that I love you forever.

Thanks alot mom!

With that, I would like to dedicate this wonderful song sang by Mr Malvin Lim and Donovan during this year's Graduation High Tea, which really touched me.

Josh Groban's You Raise me Up
